10 THINGS ABOUT ME(G)

1. I’M KNOWN FOR MY FACIAL EXPRESSIONS

I hail from the Chicago suburbs.Chicago-style hot dogs are the way to go. Green bean casserole is my go-to potluck dish.

2. I’M A MIDWESTERNER AT HEART

All day, every day. I don’t go anywhere without it.

3. I’M A CHAPSTICK ADDICT

On the weekends, I lead a Girls Club with the Southeast White House where we do anything and everything: baking pies, visiting museums, and late-night slumber parties. It’s always an adventure.

4. I LOVE MENTORING

In high school I won “Best Face in a Crowd Scene” (see also #1). With 10+ years of community theater under my belt, I still fi nd ways to bring out the actor in me. (At my organization’s annual retreat this year, I directed an improv act for the talent show.)

6. I CUT MY TEETH AT NPR’SSOCIAL MEDIA DESK

When the Snowpocalypse threatened to cancel my fl ight out of DC, I turned to my Twitter friends. Here’s how it went down:

4:30 AM - @megbiallas (me): ” Flight rescheduled for the third time (Sunday 1 PM) but there are NO shuttles to get us to Dulles. Any suggestions?”

5:30 AM - @jdcoff man: “So far this morning, my 11:30am fl ight is still saying “on-time” I’m driving out to Dulles around 7:30. helpful?”

7. TWITTER HELPED ME ESCAPE #SNOWPOCALYPSE2009
