Over the last few months, I have had the pleasure of watching my company move from a a bonafide

“side hustle” to a full-out business! While my business grew exponentially and the “supply” exceeded the

demand, I quickly realized that not only did I not have the right systems in place, but I also didn’t have the

right tools to even implement those systems. So, if I wanted to keep up with the growth of my own business

and maintain my sanity, then I had to become more intentional about how I conducted business. I

also had to learn how to be more strategic with my resources (time and money) so that I could achieve

a point when every side hustle must

end and your business will evolve.

When I began this journey, I, like many of you, was passionate about a particular idea and/or cause. I had

no intention of making money or starting a business, but more of a desire to share my story to the masses and

impact people all over the world. Although the latter still remains true, I have now come to the realization that

in order to have a global impact, it requires a significant level of focus, strategy, and the implementation and

utilization of the right tools. This is why I am sharing with you my Top 10 ThinkUP tools and resources that

have allowed me to maintain my sanity (as I worked full-time and build an amazing company on the "side").

As your ThinkUP friend, it is not only my honor to serve you, but I feel that it is my moral responsibility to give

you tools that will save you undue stress. Keep in mind that these are just a few of my top “favs” and if you are

already familiar with many of them, great! That means you are already ahead of the game! So if this is you,

then I simply ask that you will embrace the “ThinkUP” mantra by paying it forward and sending it to a friend.

But if this is not you, then I strongly encourage you to research its functionality and try it out for yourself (just

be sure to read the fine print, especially if you are doing a free trial version---which I strongly suggest). It is my

Asana is one of the newest tools that the ThinkUP Team has recently added to our

toolkit. It is a task-management tool that has simplified our process of sharing files and

managing tasks. I use this daily with my virtual team to upload files and share tasks. This

tool helps you to avoid clogging up your email with back and forth communications

and tasks.

In addition, you will get frequent reminders that there is an upcoming project that is

due. If you are working a full-time job and and you're busy assisting multiple clients with

completing projects, then this is definitely for you!

Need a high-end graphic project designed and have a limited budget?

Then check out 99 Designs. I discovered this tool a few years ago when I wrote my first

book and needed a classy but inexpensive book cover designed. With 99 designs, you

create an account, upload the project you need completed, and then graphic artists

from all over the world create a sample design for you, and then you choose the one

that best meets your needs. After you have made a selec-tion, you can work with your

artists to refine your project. This tool is great if you are unsure of what exactly you are

and you want to view several different designs before making a final selection.

I am usually not a fan of online calendars as I am still that paper and pen

calendar-type girl, however with so many moving parts in my life, I was forced to adapt to

this new way of life. If I am completely honest, it was definitely a struggle. Calendly has

simplified that process as I have been able to sync my other calendars into this one and

rather than going back and forth via email to schedule appointments. My ThinkUP friends

can now click on a date and time that works for them. No more back and forth emails

trying to find a time or manualy email confirmations and reminders. Calendly does it for

you! It is an incredible time-saver especially for those who are NOT about that email life!

Have you ever attended a conference and collected tons of business cards, but was

unsure of what to do with them? Well Shoeboxed has the solution. How does it work?

You take ALL of those business cards that are laying on your desks, in plastic bags, or

boxes, and send them to Shoeboxed. They then take the cards and upload them to an

excel sheet for you---how awesome is that? Now all of your cards will be neatly

organized into an excel sheet. It is like a virtual "robotic" personal assistant. If you haven't

tried this service, do so ASAP! They usually have some free trials so be on the look-out.

Oh yeah….. This also works for your receipts!

Creating invoices is super simple and at the end of

each month, you will get a summary of your account

activity, which you can simply forward to your

accountant.

It's easy to use, which is a major plus for me!

I love PayPal for many reasons, but for this purpose, the invoicing and account summaries

have been a major game changer in my life.

You MUST have your finances together and guess what,

Mint.com makes it easy. You create an account, link the card

that you use most, and then every time you spend money,

Mint will categorize your expenses and give you

a breakdown on how much you are spending in one

particular area. This is a must-have if you are trying to reduce

spending, track your spending, track your spending, or save

money to invest in you or your business. One of the primary

components of libing the "ThinkUP" life is that you are a good

steward of your resources.

I am from the school of thought that you cannot be a public success and a private failure.

I literally used to get headaches trying to schedule group meetings. Before I found out

about Doodle, I would send an email saying, “Hey guys let’s meet on ______ at _____ time.”

Then I would get about a zillion emails back saying yes that works or no that doesn’t work

for me or can we do this time instead…ughhhh annoying!!!! But now that I have Doodle in

my life, I have been able to maintain my mental sanity! Here's how it works:

1. Create an account and enter the times you are available to meet.

2 A link to your survey is created.

3. Forward the link and then they just click their availability.

4. Once you have received input back from your invitees, then you can schedule your

meeting based on the majority of the responses. Side note: Be sure to check the tie zone

setting, especially is you are working with individuals across the globe!

If you travel a few times a month, a few times of the year, or around the holidays, then you need

Clear or (TSA Pre-screen) in yo life!!!! As a frequent flyer, I have created a very “bad” habit of showing

up to the airport super late. Then I complain about the massive numbers of people who are also

trying to get to their destination, who are holding up the lines to get through security. But the

madness doesn't stop there as now, I have to make a mad dash to my gate to avoid missing my

flight. And guess what? Clear has unfortunately, but fortunately supported this lifestyle even more…

ha ha!!! Clear has simplified my travel experience as I no longer have to wait in the long lines. In

addition, they will assist you unload all of the items that you have overpacked (which is norm for

me now since I travel many times with my infant). However, there are two downsides to Clear. This

service does cost a bit, but if you break it down, it is only around $10-$15 a month (so you decide if it

is worth it or not) and secondly, it is not available at every airport - yet (they are slowly expanding).

If you do NOT know about Fiverr or you have NEVER used it, I am going to need you to get your

life and then thank me later!!!! This company is super duper cool and was my BFF for my first two

years in business when my budget was low.

There are zillions of freelancers who are willing to do work for as

little as $5 on Fiverr. You can get research support, graphic

design work completed, editing, and so much more! Everything

starts at $5. Your days saying that you can't afford something is

over...because now you have Fiverr. I have gotten voiceover

created, video intros, research, and simpe grpahics done from

people I have found on Fiverr. Like with any freelance service,

read the reviews, don't hire the first person you see, and use

discernment.
