from your Pastor We are always faced with many decisions in our lives everyday. There are many minor ones, yet some are major and life-changing. While we must give importance to those little ones, major decisions must always be done with right guid- ance. That is the reason why we need to be close to God and His Word, the best guide for our deci- sions. We must also realize that God’s will that is revealed to us is useless unless we make the right decision to obey it. The possibility to continue and grow in our Christian life is solely based on our decision to obey His will. God has provided us His Word and the church. Our church, by God’s grace and power, is doing all the best to help us be comforted and challenged. This week’s conference, our Missions’ month, and Nehemiah Project are just some ave- nues that help us become fruitful Christians. There- fore, we must decide to involve ourselves in such. May we be counted as faithful hearers and doers of God’s will! Finally, I ask for everybody’s prayers and sup- port for our conference this week. Let us happily welcome the visiting delegates. Let us pray for the sessions and the speakers. Let us do our best to come and learn. Have a blessed Sunday! DR. ED M. LAURENA VOLUME 23 ISSUE 43 Oct 27

THE JUBILANT JUNIOR GRADERS OF CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

A team of about 300 jubilant junior grad-ers throng to the Old Building grounds every Sunday School service to feast on homegrown teacher-made lessons from God's Word, god-ly and joyful singing, and vibrant games and activities to culminate on its own version of Ju-nior Kids Worship Service which is emceed by our very own Sir Richard Enriquez and co-led by Sir Jay-Ar Daracan under Preacher Jonah as over-all Superintendent of the children's De-partment. It is indeed a marvellous sight to be-hold as early learners are motivated to grow in the Word, serve God, and glorify Him. Deuteronomy 32:2 establishes that "My doc-trine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:" This dynamic team, aside from an organized week-ly program also have a yearly program of Ju-niors Camp, Grade 6 Retreats, Kids Discipleship and Promotion, Grade Level Recognition and Promotion, and "I Can" Rewards System. Every programs aim to ingrain in young minds the truthfulness and benefit of abiding and having fun within Biblical precepts before entering a tumultuous teenage years. May the Lord richly bless all of our endeavors for the next generation.

Sunday Schoo l in

GOD deserves our best. Through our NEHEMIAH PROJECT FOR GOD'S GLORY, we can give our best. Let us continually fulfill our commitment by His grace.

Aside from our commitments, let us drop some coins in our Sunday School class basket,

as an extra investment for this project.

“Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of deci-sion: for the day of the LORD is near in the val-ley of decision.” Joel 3:14

In the face of a thriving and diversifying land-scape of human conditions and circumstanc-es, the most confounding decision is choosing for or against God's will. Decisions either make or break God's accomplishments in our lives. Contrary to the popular spreading paradigm of “the vicious cycle,” we as God's people are not victims of our circumstances but rather a product of our decisions. We are saved to be triumphant and thriving in this world and be-yond. So, it is most imperative that we choose the godly path, although less travelled by...the narrow and straight way.

How a person makes godly decisions should be guided by four crucial questions:

1. Colossians 3: 2 exhorts us to “Set your af-fection on things above and not things on the earth;” and should prompt us to ask ourselves, “How will my decision affect eternity?” God made it clear that good decisions are made with eternity in mind. It is about seeking and setting affections on things above and not things on the earth. The Book of Matthew 6:19-20 further reminds us to “Lay not up for your-selves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” 2 Corinthians 5:1 em-phasizes that “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” We are not just human beings having a spiritual experi-ence, but we are primarily spiritual beings hav-ing a human experience. We are just pilgrims and sojourners here on earth. Our most cher-

ished possessions and positions will not really matter in the light of eternity because only the things we do for God will outlast this world.

2. Be it a seemingly trivial or major decision, we must be asking ourselves as to “How would God feel about this decision?” We must come to the realization that God is concerned with the details of life because life is lived in the de-tails. It changes who we are and what we do. A popular Christian writer on parenting once wrote, “In those things that I am obedient, I am blessed. In those things that I am disobedient, I am disciplined.” We choose the decision, but not the consequences or the reward, which-ever may be the case.

3. “How does my past affect my decisions?” Because our past can either be a help or a hin-drance when making decisions, it is worth ex-amining if it lines up with biblical precepts. The study of history is but for us to avoid the pitfalls of the past.

4. “How will my decision affect others?” Truth be told, our sinful nature cares less about oth-ers. Realistically, many of the bad decisions that we make would have been avoided if we just for a moment stopped to think about how our choices affected others. Most of us are not intentionally hurtful to others but the ramifications of our decisions include those of other people's lives. Are we edifying the body of Christ, the Church?

Our life truly becomes the sum of our de-cisions. Life is about making decisions. May our wills, desires, aspirations, motives, and en-deavors be subdued by the eternal purposes of God's most holy and perfect will. To God be all the honor, glory, and dominion, both now and for ever, Amen.
