FAMILY LEGAL pROTECTIONProblems with an employer, faulty goods or services and the increasing threat of identity theft are all common issues for your clients. DAS Family Classic is designed to provide the expert legal help and assistance needed to protect families against common legal issues, without the worry of running up solicitor costs. Clients with this product also have access to our legal advice helpline, which offers around-the-clock advice, information and peace of mind.

COMMERCIAL LEGAL pROTECTIONBusinesses of all sizes must operate within the changing framework of complicated legislation and regulations. Commercial Legal Protection provides telephone advice and assistance to help your clients’ businesses operate more smoothly, together with insurance cover that will pay the legal costs should they find themselves facing common legal problems.

GROUp LEGAL pROTECTIONTailored to suit the particular needs of individual members of any group, association or club facing a legal problem or dispute. Group Legal Protection covers a wide range of legal problems, including employment, contract, tax and personal injury. Group policy members also have access to our expert telephone helpline, with advice on legal and tax issues and a confidential counselling service, providing support as and when it’s required.

MARINE LEGAL pROTECTIONThis cover is for clients who have suffered uninsured losses following an accident that’s not their fault, are facing prosecution as the owner of a boat, or who have contractual dispute over buying, selling or repairing a vessel. Marine Legal Protection looks after their interests and provides the practical and financial support to help protect their legal rights.

MOTOREven the most careful drivers can find themselves in need of help. If your clients are involved in a motor accident, require breakdown assistance or are at risk of losing their licence, our range of motor legal expenses products are designed to give your clients all the assurance they need.

From the moment a client calls us, our motor claims handlers assist in all aspects of the claim.

DASDrive Plus

Should your clients be faced with a motor accident, suffer an injury or incur other losses not covered under their general motor insurance policy, DASDrive Plus Legal Protection is designed to protect them. If they are involved in an accident that wasn’t their fault, they have a legal right to claim back any losses not covered under their motor insurance policy from the person who caused the accident. Our coverage means that we’ll work hard to recover these costs, giving your clients the security of knowing that they can leave it with us.

Motor Prosecution Defence

Should your client be prosecuted for a motoring offence, we’ll pay defence costs up to £100,000. This cover applies whether or not an accident has happened. If we agree, we’ll also pay the legal costs of appeals against judgement or penalty. Motor Prosecution Defence covers all prosecutions except parking or obstruction offences, insurance offences and challenging a fixed penalty notice.

Licence Assist

Being disqualified from driving can have serious consequences, especially if a client relies on their car for work or personal reasons. The costs of legal advice and expert representation means those who would suffer the most from a driving ban are often the ones who can’t afford it. Licence Assist is designed to provide clients with affordable legal help. It offers a motor legal advice helpline, legal representation if your client is at risk of losing their licence and a fixed monthly benefit should the worst happen and they’re disqualified from driving.

pROpERTY LETLandlords can sometimes find themselves with a difficult tenant. One who doesn’t look after the property or pay the rent on time (or at all). Our Property Let Legal Protection policy covers a wide range of legal disputes, including property damage, repossession, eviction of squatters, rent recovery, legal defence and rent arrears.

BUSINESS VEHICLESOur Business Vehicle Legal Protection policy allows your clients to protect their legal rights in a range of situations often faced by businesses operating company vehicles; including accident loss recovery and personal injury, motor contract disputes and legal defence.

TAILORED SERVICES FOR HIGH NET WORTH CLIENTS

High net worth clients can face increased risks. We provide a range of bespoke cover options designed specifically around your clients’ needs. Our dedicated high net worth team has a wealth of experience in delivering a superior service, so you can be confident your clients will get the level of attention and care they need.

AFTER THE EVENT INSURANCEWE’RE HERE TO HELP

DAS is a major player in ATE. Dealing with over 100,000 cases in 2013 and handling premium income in excess of £50 million.

DAS LawAssist after the event (ATE) insurance products provide protection for the costs associated with litigation – adverse costs awards, counsel fees and disbursements. ATE insurance is purchased once a dispute has arisen and will protect your client from the significant financial risks a claimant faces as they take their case to trial.

With cover available up to £3m for certain case types, we can assist with a wide range of litigation, from personal injury, clinical negligence, contract disputes, debt recovery, and professional negligence, to contentious probate and insolvency.

pERSONAL INjURYProviding assistance to an individual who wishes to bring a claim for personal injury against a third party. This policy will cover Part 36 costs awards, along with their own disbursements and counsel fees. Premiums are fixed and deferred until the successful conclusion of the claim.

CLINICAL NEGLIGENCEWe will provide cover up to £500,000 for Part 36 and interim costs orders, the client’s own disbursements and counsel fees in the case of a clinical negligence claim. Premiums are self-insured and deferred until the successful conclusion of the claim.

CIVIL LITIGATIONWe will protect businesses or individuals against the costs associated with a range of litigation from contract disputes, property disputes, professional negligence and debt recovery to contentious probate. We can provide cover of up to £1.5m for a client’s own disbursements and counsel fees, plus an opponent’s costs and disbursements in the event of an unsuccessful case. Premiums are deferred and self-insured until the successful conclusion of the case.

CIVIL DIRECTCivil Direct offers the same benefits as our Civil Litigation product, but on a delegated acceptance basis, which can be very useful if you are managing a high number of cases. This product offers a limit of indemnity of £250,000, with cover for a client’s own disbursements and counsel fees, along with an opponent’s costs and disbursements. Premiums are deferred and self-insured until the successful conclusion of the case.

INSOLVENCY DIRECTSpecifically designed for partners with multiple cases, Insolvency Direct provides assistance with a delegated acceptance of cases based on fixed criteria. The product offers a limit of indemnity of £500,000 (this can be higher by arrangement) including cover for a client’s own disbursements and counsel fees, plus an opponent’s costs and disbursements. Premiums are deferred and self-insured until the successful conclusion of the case.

MOTOR ASSISTANCEDAS Motor Assistance Gold cover is a peace-of-mind package for drivers in the UK. If something goes wrong with your client’s vehicle, just one phone call to DAS means help is on the way. Unlike many other breakdown policies, this policy covers whoever is driving the vehicle in the event of a breakdown or accident. It also extends to any caravan or trailer in tow at the time.

LOSS ASSIST HOMEMaking a claim for a large loss following a major incident, such as a fire or flood, could be a complicated and time-consuming process for your client. Loss Assist Home provides your client with a dedicated loss adjuster, who will prepare the claim and negotiate on your client’s behalf. We ensure that any insured losses are paid fairly and on time.

LOSS ASSIST BUSINESSFollowing a large loss, businesses need specialist claims support to help get things back to normal as quickly as possible. Loss Assist Business pays for a dedicated loss adjuster to support your client through this difficult time. It also includes cover for the cost of experts such as engineers, surveyors and contractors required to prepare the claim.

HOME EMERGENCYWhether it’s damage to a roof, blocked drains or problems with heating. It can be difficult for a client to find a reputable contractor willing to come out at any time, day or night – not to mention the worry of how much it could cost. DAS Home Emergency offers a low cost peace-of-mind solution and assistance in the event of a domestic emergency.

Our range of legal services has been designed to add value to our insured proposition, giving you more ways to strengthen relationships with clients.

For clients who have the benefit of legal expenses insurance, our legal services create an end-to-end solution – from their first call, to legal advice or assistance, through to legal representation at court or tribunal. If your client does not have cover, we may still be able to offer advice and a solution for a fixed fee.

INSTANT LAW LINEWe have trained, UK-based advisors available for guidance and support, 24 hours a day. Our Instant Law Line offers unlimited access to telephone legal advice on a wide range of legal issues for both personal and business clients. Our service is designed to try and resolve your client’s queries at the outset. Where a client requires a wider service, such as written legal advice, through DAS Law we are able to support that requirement for a fixed fee. This provides continuity of legal support to a customer from their first phone call, to case completion.

THE EVERYDAY LEGAL pLANWe can provide written and verbal advice on any personal legal issues and access to legal services such as will drafting and employment disputes, as well as insured help with other legal issues such as personal injury, clinical negligence and divorce. There are three tiers of cover available:

The Any Time Plan

Our entry level plan designed for clients who just want the peace of mind of having legal advice on hand, when they need it, plus the option of a 25% discount on additional legal services. The Any Time plan offers 24/7 access to a legal advice helpline, online document drafting and face-to-face advice from a solicitor.

The Every Time Plan

Comprehensive legal services and cover for everyday living. From will drafting services to Personal Injury cover and 24/7 access to legal advice amongst other benefits, the Every Time plan offers a range of legal services plus legal expenses insurance cover for contract disputes, divorce, educational appeals and more for your clients and their families.

The All Time Plan

A complete plan, covering almost all the legal needs of your clients. The All Time plan is our premium product. It includes all the legal services and legal expenses insurance offered in the other plans, plus the additional benefit of conveyancing services.
