Photo Processing Equipment:

1. The photo department layout will be based on the Tiered level of sales approach and will be designed accordingly. Architectural Services will define the required supporting equipment on the Fixture Plan.

2. All photo processing equipment additions or removals will be coordinated by Category Management Photo Department personnel and will be executed by the Regional Photo Specialist or Field Technical Support personnel.

3. The General Contractor shall supply all power required for photo equipment. Refer to Data / Phone / Power diagram.

4. The General Contractor will supply the required data and phone connections through approved low voltage application vendors Spencer Technologies or Crosscom National. * Refer to section “Data / Phone / Power” requirements for specific information.

Western Union:

1. Refer to the Fixture Plan for direction concerning the placement of the Western Union machine.

2. Each store identified as having Western Union shall have both services: Money Transfer and Money Order. The Money Order service is installed under register #2. The Money Transfer service is a countertop machine and the position will be identified on the Fixture Plan.

3. If these services DO NOT exist at the store prior to the remodel, the RCM should notify the District Manager.

4. It is the responsibility of the District Manager to order the necessary equipment and forms from Virginia Boone at SYSM ID “ACCVB1” or at phone number 717-975-5881.

Digital Order Station Set Up:

The new photo department configuration is currently shipping to Capital Projects that include Digital Order Stations with scanner drawers. Each Digital Order Station will now be installed atop a steel drawer which houses the photo scanner. The General Contractor will attach the rear of the drawer to the countertop to stabilize the unit when the drawer is in the open position. Note: In early trials of this setup it was observed that the scanner cords inside the drawer may bind and inhibit the drawer from returning to the closed position. To avoid such a problem, the following series of photos indicates how the installing technician can properly route and attach the cords. Following this procedure will assure a clean installation.

The scanner’s power and data cords must be zip-tied inside the drawer as shown above. Otherwise the transformers shown in the photo will impede the drawer from closing completely.

Passport Screen:

Passport screens will be reused in all Tier levels of photo department; use the following guidelines to execute this work:

1.See Fixture Plan for desired location of the Passport screen.

2.If required, General Contractor will relocate and install passport screen in preferred location.

3.General Contractor will supply two (2) 1” x 5” corner braces and appropriate hardware attached to underside of the cap shelf. If existing store has valance lighting, corner braces will be installed between the light fixture and cap shelf.

4.The bottom of the screen needs to be a minimum of four inches from the bottom of the valance using #12 Jack Chain and ¼” SS Eye Hook, to accommodate a new graphic to be installed by others.

5.The General Contractor should review the above with the Rite Aid RCM during the Advance Walk-Through to address job specific contingencies.

6. In the event that the Passport Sign is lost or damaged, the RCM should advise the store manager to order a replacement by way of the Front End Master Menu System. Item # 5048492.

The Rite Aid FDC ships acrylic holders and set up sheets with all new photo cabinets for DOS and Western Union (see slides 4 & 5 of this section). The GC should mount these acrylics on the rear of the cabinets and insert the Set Up sheets.
