Pastor’s Notes Fifth Sunday of Easter

Dear Parish Family,

There are many wonderful aspects of this weekend's Gospel that are ripe for prayerful mediation and contemplation. The first statement made by Christ, "do not let your hearts be troubled" is one that in these particular times should bring all us peace. It is one that should also fill us with hope for the many good things to come and this weekend I am overjoyed to share with you that beginning next Saturday and Sunday, May 16th and 17th we will resume our traditional Sunday Mass schedule. Fr. John, myself and our staff are working hard to prepare for the reopening and are so happy to welcome you back. We will maintain the traditional weekend Mass schedule and in order to maintain proper social distancing parameters and to adhere to standards put forth by local and state government we are limiting Mass attendance to 550 people per Mass. We have created a sign-up for each Mass and ask that you please sign up for the Mass you would like to attend. The sooner you sign up the better prepared we will be in the event we need to modify the Mass schedule. The sign up is located on our Parish webpage. Please understand that once we reach our capacity of 550 for a Mass, we will ask individuals to comeback for the next Mass. Please also know that we will continue to live stream a Mass on Sunday mornings and strongly encourage those individuals who are in a high-risk category to remain sheltered at home. Bishop Estevez has suspended the Sunday Mass obligation until further notice. In addition to the weekend Masses we will have daily Mass in the Main Church at 8:00a.m. and 12 noon beginning Monday, May 17th. Please note there will not be a Saturday daily Mass at noon.

Below are some important points to be aware of when returning to Mass.• In order for us to monitor the attendance the front entrance doors of the Main Church will be the only point of entry. • We ask that you refrain from congregating in the gathering area before and after Mass.• Maintain proper social distancing when choosing a pew and while walking up for Com-munion.• At this time Communion will only be given in the hand.• In order to help keep a safe environment we have removed the missals from the pews and recommend you bring a Magnificat or use your phone to follow along if you desire. • We highly encourage all those attending Mass to wear a face mask and to have their own hand sanitizer.During this time of quarantine, we have worked very hard to keep all of you updated regarding life here at the Parish. We have begun sending out periodic emails and have had great re-sponse to this endeavor. If you have not received one, please contact Angela Drain in our office to update your records.
