HP Care Pack ServicesHP Care Pack services offer a great level of after sales service, convenience and cost savingsby outsourcing service issues – plus less storingand stocking of parts and onsite service stafffor enquiries.
HP Care Pack services represent the most preferredHP support and installation options that customers purchase year after year. They enable customers to select the right service and right level of supportto ensure their IT infrastructure has the availabilityrequired to meet their business needs.
HP Care Pack services are designed to be easilyadded at the time of the product sale. Making iteasy – with one part number and one upfront cost.

Travel ChargesIf service is required outside of the coverage areas detailed above, a travel charge will be determined at the time of logging a service call, not at the time of purchase of the hardware or Care Pack. Next Business Day (NBD) HP Care Pack services can still bepurchased for hardware located outside of the coverage areas, but the travel charge will apply per call and response times will beon a best effort basis. This provides the ability to upgrade service levels or service length.

Key considerations whenassessing support requirements

Optimise the performance of an existing ProLiant or BladeSystem environment and get advice on best practice. As IT equipment has become more reliable, it is estimated that 80% of unplanned downtime isnow due to people and processes – downtime that is not addressed by standard hardware and softwaresupport. HP Proactive Service provides the framework and deliverables to develop better performing ITsystems and environments by proactively improving technology performance and change management.
The new Proactive Service Care Pack can be sold with new product or into an existing environment to help optimise performance. The proactive support will cover all hardware across the environment, regardless of number of servers or enclosures.
This service features an assigned Account Support Manager, account planning, operational and technical advice, system health check and one additional proactive activity such as tool integration, virtualisation workshop, best practice evaluation or patch/firmware base-lining. (Full details are in the service datasheets).
The Care Packs are available for 3 month, 1 year or 3 year terms.
Service LimitationsThese Care Packs are available for equipment located within 80kms of Auckland, Hamilton, Wellingtonand Christchurch.
The number of service delivery days are pre-set and the deliverables defined. Customers with large environments, multiple locations or multiple operating systems may need to purchase a service that differsfrom the one described.

Onsite Service NBD Response An HP Authorised representative will arrive at the customer’s site to begin hardwaremaintenance service the Next Day after the service request is logged and for whichthere is a contracted coverage window. Only available for locations within 160kmof an HP Authorised Service Provider, unless agreed otherwise by HP.
6 hr Call to RepairHP will use commercially reasonable efforts to return the covered hardware to operating condition within 6hrs of the initial service request. Service is available24hrs per day, Monday through Sunday, including HP holidays. Only available inAuckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Chistchurch and Dunedin, within 80km of an HPAuthorised Service Provider, unless agreed otherwise by HP.
Global Next DayThis package includes onsite hardware support with a next business day responsetime and a delivery window of 9 hours during standard office hours and days asspecified in the country of service. Service for this package may be requested in several specified countries around the world.
HP Return ServiceThis package includes offsite hardware support at an HP authorised Repair Centreduring business hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays with a standard Turn-Around-Time of 3 full business days on receipt of theequipment from the customer. After remote diagnosis and support the customer willdeliver the faulty unit to the Repair Centre. HP will return the repaired or replacedunit to the customer. Turn-Around-Time is measured from when the unit arrives at theRepair Centre until it is ready for return-shipment to the customer.
HP Pick up and Return ServiceThis package includes offsite hardware support at an HP authorised Repair Centreduring business hours of 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays with a standard Turn-Around-Time of 3 full business days on receipt of the equipment from the customer. After remote diagnosis and support HP will pick-up the faulty unit at the customer site. HP will return the repaired or replacedunit to the customer.
Exchange ServiceAfter remote diagnosis and support HP will, if necessary, ship a replacement unit to the customer by the next contracted business day. The customer will return thefaulty unit using the pre-paid shipment label and container provided by HP together with the replacement unit.
Support PlusThis package includes: onsite hardware support with a 4 hour response time and a delivery window of 13 hours during business hours of 8.30am to 9.30pm Mondayto Friday excluding public holidays. Software Support with a service window of 13 hours during business hours of 8.30am to 9.30pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Software Information, License to use new versions of software anddistribution of software updates.
Software SupportThis package includes: Software Technical Support with a service window of 9 hours during business hours of 8.30am to 9.30pm Monday to Friday excluding public holidays. Software information, license to use new versions of software and distribution of software updates. Enterprise products only.
Software Product UpdatesThis package provides Software Information, license to use the new version of software, and the distribution of software updates. Enterprise products only.
InstallationThe package will provide for the basic installation of either a product or technology.It will include a call from an HP service specialist to ensure any service prerequisitesare met and to schedule the date of the delivery of the service, which consists of:the basic installation of hardware and/or software per the product documentation.
Installation & Start UpThe package will provide for the custom installation and startup of either a product or technology. NotesContinuous Effort (CE) – for all Same Day onsite service levels.Where practical, a HP technical specialist will remain onsite until the problem is resolved. If the resolution is delayed for reasons beyond HP’s control continuouseffort will not apply.
Reasonable Commercial Effort (RCE) – All Service levels except 6hr Call to Repair.HP makes no response time guarantee, but will make a reasonable commercial effort to meet the specified onsite response times.
Telephone response After a call has been logged with the HP Care Centre a Service Engineer willrespond to the customer by telephone.
Onsite response After a call has been logged with the HP Care Centre a Service Engineer will use their best efforts to provide a time to repair/resolve the problem onsite.
