first competition

Mircea Digulescu – ROMANIA

It’s very nice so far. I like the weather, it’s much cooler than in my country where it’s 40°C. Thetasks were pretty easy. We had a lot of work with implementing them but the concepts were not very difficult. Some of my opponentsmight do better than me but I’m sure I’ll beat most of them. One of the programs today was my cup of tea.

Leo Hatvani – BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Rzeszow is a great city. It has many attractions that most cities in today’s world don’t have. Just the map in the small guidebook is a little bit confusing. The tasks were difficult. This olympiad is said to be harderthan typical international olympiads but we should wait for the results because I can’t predict anything.

Wolfgang Pohl, Erik Panzer, Felix Arends – GERMANY

I like Rzeszow very much, especially the city center. The hotel isalso ok and the university is very nice. (Felix Arends)

Interestingly, the Polish organizers said that most of today’s tasks would be pretty easy. Polish participants have a very high level so we thought it would be at least medium and I think this was about true. One of the tasks of today was pretty tricky. (Wolfgang Pohl)

We talked to some other participants a few days ago and they told us they were very good in the past years so it won’t be easy to beat them. (Erik Panzer)

Pics from KielnarowaOn Tuesday afternoon the participants and team leaders visited the Center of Tourism and Recreation inKielnarowa where they were shown the complex consisted of the didactic building, the hotel and the sports hall.

CORRECTIONIn the bulletin no. 2 it was written that a member of Poland 1 group, Filip Wolski, lives in Danzig (Germany). Of course he lives in Gdansk – very beautiful Polish city. We are very sorry about the mistake.

Afterwards they sweated blood in the sports hall playing games where again they competed with each other. To sumup the day, they relaxed by the fireplace grilling, chatting and thinking about the contest coming up the next day.
