Key Points on UniConn SCADA Functionality

UniConn communicates via the Modbus RTU protocol over RS-232 or RS-485

The UniConn has several independent COM ports The UniConn requires an Isolated Com. Card for any

connection to a SCADA system or SCB The UniConn does not require a Modbus Multiplexer The UniConn has been proven to work with dozens of 3rd

party SCADA systems, DCS systems, and RTUs

Enabling SCADA Communication

In order to enable remote communications, an Isolated Communication Card is Required.

Multi-Master Connections

Each com card enabled port can have different communication settings, including baud rate and Modbus Slave ID.

Configuring the Port

From the default UniConn screen, press any button Press MENU Press SETUP Press NEXT until you see the “PORT x” you are interested in. Press EDIT

You will now have access to all of the communication parameters for that particular port.

Contacting InTouch for Technical Assistance

When contacting InTouch for SCADA/SCB-related UniConn technical assistance, you MUST provide the following: Client Name, Field Name, Site Name Wellview *.STE File UniConn Firmware Version Wellview Version Device you are connecting the UniConn to SCADA network parameters (baud rate, data & stop bits, etc.)
