THE ROLE OF DATA SUPPORTING AN EFFECTIVE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS EL ROL DE LOS DE DATOS PARA UN PROCESO EFECTIVO EN LA TOMA DE DECISIONESReal-world data extend the usefulness of randomized controlled trials by the ability to include timely data, large sample sizes that enable analysis of subpopulations and less common effects, and real-world practice and behaviors in applied research studies. Research that uses real-world data and real-world evidence is becoming increasingly important to decision makers, and through careful analysis and interpretation, this type of evidence will play an increasing role in informing healthcare decisions.In this session, different stakeholders will explore how the management of these “data” impact real-life healthcare decisions and resource allocation in Latin America.

Los datos del mundo real aumentan la utilidad de los ensayos clínicos aleatorios controlados, debido a su capacidad para incluir datos oportunos y muestras de gran tamaño que permiten el análisis de subpoblaciones y efectos menos comunes, así como prácticas y comportamientos del mundo real en estudios de investigación aplicada. La investigación clínica que utiliza datos y evidencia del mundo real está ganando interés y relevancia entre los tomadores de decisiones, y a través de un cuidadoso análisis e interpretación, es que este tipo de evidencia jugará un papel cada vez más relevante en la toma de decisiones de salud.En esta sesión un grupo de expertos en el tema explorarán cómo estos “datos” impactan el proceso de toma de decisiones así como la asignación de recursos en América Latina.

Which key outcomes determine how the efficiency of a health system should be measured? How can the perspectives of all stakeholders be incorporated, thus making patients and providers partners in healthcare decisions? And, how can patients’ access to innovation be effectively managed so that it adds value and improves health system efficiency?Panelists will present different approaches to increase efficiency in health systems and improve access to patients.

La medición de valor en salud implica algunas decisiones importantes sobre qué medir y cómo. ¿Cuáles son los resultados clave para determinar cómo debe medirse la eficiencia de un sistema de salud? ¿Cómo se pueden incorporar las perspectivas de todos los involucrados en este proceso, creando sinergia entre los pacientes y proveedores en la toma de decisiones? Pre-Conference Short Courses are training courses off ered across 6 HEOR key topic areas. The skill level ranges from introductory to experienced. Separate registration is required.

Plenary Sessions feature thought-provoking discussions on challenging topics related to healthcare policy, the application of HEOR in healthcare decision making, or methodology.

Spotlight Sessions (SP) highlight timely topics in HEOR and promote areas of innovation of interest to the ISPOR community.

Issue Panels (IP) introduce debates with multistakeholder perspectives on new or controversial issues in HEOR.

Workshops (W) discuss new and innovative applications in the conduct and use of HEOR or the latest on real-world data, clinical-, economic-, or patient-reported outcomes, patient-preferences, and healthcare policy.

ISPOR Forums (F) are presentations or facilitated discussions on current HEOR topics by ISPOR Member Groups (ie, Chapters, Networks, Consortia, Task Forces, Special Interest Groups, and Council Working Groups). Session content includes updates on regional issues and recent scientifi c research. Open to all attendees.

Podium Presentations (P) sessions consist of four 15-minute outcomes research presentations on a single topic.

Poster Presentations sessions contain approximately 350 research posters per session arranged by disease, topic, or healthcare intervention with a scheduled author discussion hour.

Symposia are sponsored presentations related to ISPOR’s mission. The sponsor organization selects a subject of interest to delegates and arranges suitable speakers.

El contenido de esta sesión incluye actualizaciones sobre temas regionales y recientes investigaciones científi cas. Los Foros ISPOR están abiertos a todos los asistentes.

Presentación en Podio (P) consiste en sesiones de 15 minutos donde se presentan 4 resultados de investigación sobre un solo tema.

Presentación de póster consiste en aproximadamente 350 pósteres de investigación por sesión y está organizada por enfermedad, tema o intervención sanitaria con un horario programado para la presentación y discusión con el autor.

The increasing costs of the healthcare system are stimulating several initiatives that can bring new, innovative management practices for the Latin American (LA) Healthcare Systems. One approach is Value based healthcare, where the focus shifts from discussing volume of use and its costs to the value we can bring to the patients. While not all stockholders agree on the concept of value, increasingly, our region is testifying about concrete cases of value-based care, even as risk-sharing agreements for drugs. The goal of this forum is to discuss what definitions of value are being used in the region, and bring concrete cases being implemented in the LA region.

Many ISPOR Member Groups meet in person during the conference to work on projects, reports, articles and other specific tasks that advance their group’s objectives. These member groups include: Special Interest Groups (SIGs), Task Forces (TF), Councils & Roundtables, Consortium, Networks, and Chapters. Invitational Group Meetings are by invitation only.Participants will receive an email reminder and notification of any changes to the group meeting schedule from the ISPOR Staff or ISPOR member coordinating the meeting. Invitational Group Meetings are included in the conference app daily schedule to allow invited participants the option to add the meeting to their personal schedule. SPEAKER INFORMATIONAll speakers are encouraged to use the Speaker Ready Room to preview their slide presentations and/or upload an updated version. Presentations submitted to ISPOR Speaker’s Corner by the specified advance deadline and all presentations uploaded/updated in the Speaker Ready Room 30 minutes prior to the session will be pre-loaded to the computer in the session room. All speakers are requested to arrive at their presentation room 15 minutes prior to the session start time. ISPOR staff will be available in the session room to assist the presenter.
