1 12 April 2015 Welcome to Gold Coast North Anglican Church. Were so glad that you have joined us today and we invite you to parcipate in our worship as freely and fully as you feel comfortable to. Please join us for a cuppa and a chat aſter the service. From Reverend Ron Bundy…. ...Job Descripon Changes... When I menoned to someone recently that I was rering on 31 December they responded with Oh no! Weve had so many changes already.A fair comment. New office – not without some tensions. New building – great; excellent, in fact. But not without its tensions. New roles for Stephen and me - not without their tensions. On Easter Sunday there were 530 people in church across the parish. The Sunday before, Palm Sunday, 350. We have grown in number and in jobs to be done. One thing that needs to be understood and accepted with this growth is that there cannot be personal “1 to 1” pastoral care for every member of the parish from Stephen or me. When I was appointed to Gold Coast North Parish in 2007, it was with the express aim that I work towards growing the church, and to get the new building completed. If either Stephen or I concentrated on personal ministry as in a smaller parish, our growth would plateau and then decline. We need a new level of pastorsto visit, pray, phone up, write notes, etc. We are both working on this. If, for example, you aend 5pm church at Holy Rood with less than 20 people, you may not realise that we have over 400 people who aend church, a staff of 6, and a budget of around $500000. Please understand this, accept it and help where you can. If we want to grow to, say, 1000 people, then the next Priest in Charge may never visit in hospital; may never take a funeral or a wedding. We are moving into new territory now. I find it very excing! I love change!

12 April 2015 Welcome to Gold Coast North Anglican Church. We’re so glad that you have joined us today and we invite you to participate in our worship as freely and fully as you feel comfortable to. Please join us for a cuppa and a chat after the service.

From Reverend Ron Bundy….

...Job Description Changes...

When I mentioned to someone recently that I was retiring on 31 December they responded with “Oh no! We’ve had so many changes already.” A fair comment. New office – not without some tensions. New building – great; excellent, in fact. But not without it’s tensions. We need a new level of “pastors” to visit, pray, phone up, write notes, etc. We are both working on this. If, for example, you attend 5pm church at Holy Rood with less than 20 people, you may not realise that we have over 400 people who attend church, a staff of 6, and a budget of around $500000. Please understand this, accept it and help where you can. If we want to grow to, say, 1000 people, then the next Priest in Charge may never visit in hospital; may never take a funeral or a wedding. We are moving into new territory now. I find it very exciting! I love change!

From the Parish Office….

Are you interested in helping out in any of the following areas?

Decorating the churches for special services and weekly themes? Gardening? Maintenance work? Liturgical Assisting? Welcoming? Carpark / Traffic direction? Sunday School / Youth ministry? Morning Tea ministry? Barista-ing? Dusting? Cleaning the silver? Floral arrangements? Sidesperson duties? Music / singing / piano / organ / band? Reading? Sacristan (setting up for Holy Communion)? Working bees? Pastoral care? Social activities coordination?

There are MANY areas in which you are able to assist and we would love to have the opportunity to discuss your participation further. Speak to Ron or Stephen to discuss which areas you might like to offer your assistance in.

If you are already on roster for volunteer duties within our three centres, would you please phone the Parish office, send us an email, pop into the office or write a note to send back to the office via the “Sunday boxes”, just to confirm what areas you are involved in, as we would like to ensure our lists are up to date. Also - if you are not on the rosters and would like to be, please let us know—we have plenty of room for more! (See above list!)

If you have any concerns you would like to discuss in relation to the roster, please call Heather at the Parish office or speak to Ron or Stephen. We are aware the online system is not everyone’s cup of tea, and would like to be given the opportunity to attempt to fine tune it wherever possible to make it as user friendly as possible.

Thank you again for your continued support.
