Being active has a large impact on our health Based on various studies in the US we know that:

• Chronic diseases are the number one cause of death and

disability.

• Chronic diseases account for 75% of the US health care spending.

• The World Health Organization calculates that at least 80% of

all heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes and more than 40% of

cancer would be prevented if people ate healthier, exercised, and

stopped smoking.

Hence:

The Pam activity management system can play an important role in health and wellness

• Pam measures daily physical activity;

• By just wearing it, the user gets motivated.

• The Pam AM300 features:

• A attractive modern design

• Customizable skin

• 3D sensor

• Wireless connection

• Pam has more than 10 years experience in the activity monitoring market

The Pam automatically connects to the Pam web server via wireless communication to your own wireless USB receiver.

Data is represented in one ‘dashboard’.

© Move2Health Holding bv/Pam bv 2013

In the graph, you can

zoom and swipe.

Here, your week score is

compared to the goal

line. If too low, the

differences is converted

to minutes in one of the

three zones or your

preferred activities.

This module can be

built into your own

website in just a few

clicks!

You can even zoom to day level.

So that you can see how

your activities are spread

during the day.

Pam = 100 x AEE

BMR

• AEE = activity induced energy expenditure • BMR = basal metabolic rate • For both: the heavier the higher the energy consumption. • The ratio is independent of weight.

We compared the Pam to oxygen consumption (gas analyzer), pedometer (Omron Fitbug) and Polar heart rate monitor. ACSM stands for the standard set by the American College of Sports Medicine.

Each second, the Pam measures how active the user was and ‘puts’ that second in one of three boxes related to the intensity level. On Pam’s display you can find the number of minutes in each of the three zones.

What about behavioral change?

Key learning after 13 years of Pam:

© Move2Health Holding bv/Pam bv 2013

You don’t change behavior by just selling a device with a website

That’s why Pam has always aimed on partnerships:

• Incentive program

• Community program

• (Human) coaching

nutrition and sufficient physical activity are the basis

of every wellness program.

Coaching Because on-line only is too impersonal!

Community Somebody looking over your shoulders has influence!

Partnerships with physiotherapists and dietitians

• We enable physiotherapists and dietitians to work with the Pams to monitor and motivate their clients.

• They use a back-office where they have an overview of all their Pam clients on one screen.
