Players: 2-5Playing Time: ~20-25 minutesAges: 8 and up

Standard Rules - Playing The GameTrick Cards: 13 Cards - These cards are num-bered 1-13 and contain the various ghoulish surprises awaiting you on each night of Hallow-een.Treat Cards: 97 Cards - These cards have varying amounts of candy “treats” supplied for your pleasure. There are also 6 special character treat cards that allow you to challenge the treats bid for a round.

During each round of 13 Frights of Halloween, a Trick card is available to be collected. Every player will use the cards in their hand to win the round. The player who bids the most candy “Treats” will win the “Trick.”

Each Trick is worth the points in the top corner of the card, corresponding to which round of the game it is. Leftover candy is also worth points, but only half their numbered value (i.e. 12 Treats are worth 6 points) - nobody wants stale candy. The winner of the game is the one with the most points!

Starting The GameLay the 13 Trick Cards face up on the table in a pile, starting with 1 Raven in a Graveyard and ascending up numerically. Shue all 97 Treat Cards together and deal each player 13 cards. Play is simultaneous. There are 13 rounds of play.

Each Round: On every round of play, each player will:

1. Steal a Card: Go Trick or Treating and pick a random card from the player’s hand to your right. 2. Play a Card: Play a card trying to win that rounds treat!3. Draw a Card: All players will always have 13 cards in hand.

Trick or TreatingEach round, before any cards have been played, each player picks a random Treat from the player’s hand to their right and it is immediately placed into their own hand. This is done simul-taneously and cards picked cannot be stolen on the same round.

Playing CardsDuring each round, all players choose a card from their hand to win the Trick being shown. Players place the selected Treat card face down on the table until all players are ready. At this time, Treat cards are turned over and the player bidding the most Treats collects the Trick. All cards played are discarded and players draw new cards to end the turn.

Normally, whoever plays the most Treats will win the round. However, if there is a tie for highest value Treat card, then those cards are ignored, and the next highest card wins. If those cards are also tied, the third highest number wins. If all the cards are tied, then no one takes the Trick, and both cards will go to the winner of the next round. An example of a tied bid: On the 3rd round, the Treat cards are: 3, 5, 7, 10, and 10. Because the 10’s are tied, the 3rd round goes to the player who played the 7. Character Cards: Follow the instructions written on the card. Some Character Cards act as trump cards and automatically win the Trick for that

round. Others can force players to change a card they just played. Be careful, because if 2 character treats with the same instructions are played on a round, they cancel each other out.

If a card with instructions to re-play an opponent’s card is played, this trumps any other special Character Cards played (even ones that would have claimed the prize). *Character Cards are worth ZERO points at the end, so be sure to play them!

Drawing CardsEveryone draws a new card at the end of each round. You should always start a round with 13 cards. When the Treat deck is empty, reshue all played cards.

Ending The GameThe game lasts for 13 rounds. Be sure to draw one nal Treat card after the 13th round. If all cards are tied on the last round, then no one wins the 13th Trick.

Scoring And Winning The GamePlayers score points in 2 ways. First, count the points won from collecting Tricks. Point values are in the corner according to what round they were collected. Leftover candy is also worth points, but only 50% of its value (it got stale). Count up how many pieces of candy Treats you have left in your hand and add half of it to the point total from collected Tricks. The player with the most points wins!

Tiebreakers: In the event of a tie, use the following methods rather than TPing each others house.1. Whoever has the most points won from Tricks wins the game.2. Whoever has the highest valued Trick wins the game.
