Build BackgroundHelp students use their knowledge of insects to visualize the text. Read the title and author and talk about the cover photograph. Note the various graphic features in the selection. Tell students that this is informational text. Point out that the prefi x pre- in prejuicio on page 10 comes from the Latin root word prae, which means antes or en frente.
