Task Definitions
The flight syllabus contains definitions that indicate the amount of
student/instructor involvement when conducting a task as prescribed on a flightlesson. These definitions are as follows and should be considered when evaluating
whether the student meets the completions standards:
Introduce: Tasks listed under the title “Introduce” should bedemonstrated by the instructor and then guided by the instructor asthe student attempts the maneuver. Instructor guidance and
intervention is expected. Students should be able to complete themaneuver with the aid of the instructor as outlined in the “Completion
Standards” listed within each flight lesson.
Review: Tasks listed under the title “Review” should be demonstrated
only by the student with some guidance from the instructor as thestudent attempts the maneuver. Instructor guidance may be
necessary depending upon their experience and proficiency level, butphysical intervention is expected to be minimal.
Perform: Tasks listed under the title “Perform” should bedemonstrated only by the student for the purpose of evaluating. Noinstructor guidance is to occur, and the instructor should not have to
intervene at this level. Additionally, “Perform” tasks refer to solo
activities which do not have distinct completion standards.
