Te Deum

O God, we praise Thee, and acknowledge

Thee to be the supreme Lord.

Everlasting Father, all the earth worships Thee.

All the Angels, the heavens, and all angelic powers, All the

Cherubim and Seraphim,

continuously cry to Thee: Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord!

God of Hosts! Heaven and earth are full

of the Majesty of Thy glory.

The glorious choir of the Apostles,

The wonderful company of Prophets,

The whiterobed army of Martyrs, praise Thee.

 Holy Church throughout the world

acknowledges Thee:

The Father of infinite Majesty;

Thy adorable, true and only Son;

Also the Holy Spirit, the Comforter.

O Christ, Thou art the King of glory!

Thou art the everlasting Son of the Father.

When Thou tookest it upon Thyself to deliver man, Thou

didst not disdain the Virgin's womb.

 Having overcome the sting of death,

Thou opened the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers. Thou

sitest at the right hand of God

in the glory of the Father.

We believe that Thou willst come to be our Judge. We,

therefore, beg Thee to help Thy servants

whom Thou hast redeemed

with Thy Precious Blood.

Let them be numbered with Thy Saints

in everlasting glory. Amen.

 Veni, Creator Spiritus

 Come, Holy Spirit, Creator blest,

and in our souls take up Thy rest;

come with Thy grace and heavenly aid

to fill the hearts which Thou hast made.

 O Comforter, to Thee we cry,

O heavenly gift of God Most High,

O fount of life and fire of love,

and sweet anointing from above.

 Thou in Thy sevenfold gifts are known;

Thou, finger of God's hand we own;

Thou, promise of the Father, Thou

Who dost the tongue with power imbue.

 Kindle our sense from above,

and make our hearts o'erflow with love;

with patience firm and virtue high

the weakness of our flesh supply.

 Far from us drive the foe we dread,

and grant us Thy peace instead;

so shall we not, with Thee for guide,

turn from the path of life aside.

 Oh, may Thy grace on us bestow

the Father and the Son to know;

and Thee, through endless times confessed,

of both the eternal Spirit blest.

 Now to the Father and the Son,

Who rose from death, be glory given,

with Thou, O Holy Comforter,

henceforth by all in earth and heaven. Amen.

*For the plenary indulgence, please remember that the

rules of Confession, reception of the Eucharist,

and prayers for the Holy Father apply.

In all things, give thanks…

 It’s a longstanding Catholic practice to give thanks to God for the graces and blessings of the previous year

and then to make petitions for the year to come. In fact, the prayers are indulgenced so that we are encouraged to make

prayer a habit every December 31st. Below please find the prescribed prayers.

End 2019 with the Te Deum

 The Te Deum, also sometimes called the Ambrosian Hymn because of its association with St. Ambrose, is a traditional

hymn of joy and thanksgiving. A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful who recite it in thanksgiving and a plenary

indulgence* is granted if the hymn is recited publicly (for example, at Mass) on the last day of the year. Source: EWTN.com

Begin 2020 with the Veni, Creator Spiritus

 One of the most widely used hymns in the Church, “Veni, Creator Spiritus,” is used at Vespers, Pentecost,

Confirmation, and whenever the Holy Spirit is solemnly invoked. A partial indulgence is granted to the faithful who recite it.

A plenary indulgence* is granted if it is recited on January 1st or on the feast of Pentecost.

Help for depression

 The holiday season can be a very difficult time for

those who struggle with depression. It’s easy to feel isolat-

ed and lose hope. Consider that even our Saints have expe-

rienced depression, as evidenced through St. Pio’s per-

sonal prayer below. In addition to prayer, the Saints knew

how to “Let go and let God.” Pray, and then take your

hands off your hurts and let God help, which He wants to

do. Ask St. Pio, our Blessed Mother, or your favorite Saint

to intercede and show you the way.

Stay with me, Lord

Written by St. Pio of Pietrelcina, to be said after

Holy Communion or anytime you need the Lord’s consolation

 Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You

present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily

I abandon You.Stay with me Lord, because I am weak,

and I need Your strength, so that I may not fall so of-

ten.Stay with me Lord, for You are my life, and without

You, I am without fervor.

 Stay with me Lord, for You are my light, and with-

out you, I am in darkness.Stay with me Lord, to show me

Your will.Stay with me Lord, so that I hear Your voice

and follow You.Stay with me Lord, for I desire to love you

very much, and always be in Your Company.Stay with me

Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.

 Stay with me Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want

it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of Love.Stay

with me, Jesus, for it is getting late, and the day is coming

to a close, and life passes, death, judgment, eternity ap-

proach. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will

not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting

late and death approaches. I fear the darkness, the tempta-

tions, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need

You, my Jesus, in this night of exile.

 Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dan-

gers, I need You. Let me recognize You as Your disciples

did at the breaking of bread, so that the Eucharistic Com-

munion be the light which disperses the darkness, the force

which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.

 Stay with me Lord, because at the hour of my death,

I want to remain united to you, if not by Communion, at

least by grace and love.

 Stay with me Jesus, I do not ask for divine consola-

tion because I do not merit it, but the gift of Your presence,

oh yes, I ask this of You.Stay with me Lord, for it is You

alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your

Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other

reward but to love You more and more.

 With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart

while on earth and continue to love You perfectly during

all eternity. Amen.
