IT’S HERE!!!For 31 memorable days we’re going to pray across America. Through the instant access of intercession we will visit every state, every territory, and our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Our guide on this extraordinary journey is the Pray31 U.S. Prayer Atlas, a unique resource with an easy-to-follow, day-by-day itinerary.

Thanksgiving Dinner Nov. 16thThe church will be having the annual Plainview Family Thanksgiving Dinner. Dinner will be served right after the Sunday morning service. The church is furnishing the turkey, dressing, gravy, and drinks. There will be a sign up sheet passed around this morning for you to let us know what you will be bringing. Vegetables, salads, rolls, and deserts. Please mark your calendar and plan on joining your church family for a Thanksgiving dinner. If you have any questions call the church or see Lorene. We will need people to help setup and teardown.

FREE PIES!!Last year a couple churches got together and handed out free pies to any one in the community that wanted one. We advertised via the backpack program, library, and various other locations in town. We were able to give away over a 150 pies and it was so much fun! (I mean who does not love pies!) This year we are going to collecting home made (or home embellished) pies to be given out on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving from 6:30-7:30 at Dixie Middle School. Pies are completely free and need to be turned in by Tuesday night so we can box and prep them.

Community Sing - Nov. 16thAlso the New Lebanon Ministerial Association will be holding their annual community sing. This year it is being hosted by Plainview. If anyone would like to sing or play a musical instrument, get in touch with Pastor Josh ASAP. The community sing get-together will start at 6 PM. There will be plenty of time to rest between the dinner and the community sing. This is a great way to spend a Sunday. Good Sunday morning praise and worship service followed by a great meal and topped off with an early evening of good ole gospel music. Don’t forget - contact Pastor Josh and make arrangements to share the beautiful gifts of praise and worship God has given to you.

Thanksgiving BasketsThis year we plan to continue our Thanksgiving baskets for families in need. I have already a few calls asking if we were going to be doing Thanksgiving baskets. The baskets are usually delivered a week before thanksgiving. This means they will have to be made up on the 19th of Nov. so that we can delver them on the 20th. Please do all you can to help with donating food for the baskets. See insert for what is needed.
