ST. REGIS STEWARDSHIP CORNER In today’s Gospel passage from Luke, we find our Lord appointing disciples to go out and prepare others to re-ceive His invitation into the Kingdom of God. Every verse has something to say about the way a Christian steward should approach others. Let’s look at least one of the coaching tips Christ gives. “The Lord appointed seventy-two others whom He sent out ahead of Him in pairs to every town and place He intended to visit.” In His wisdom, Christ sent His disci-ples out not as individuals but in pairs, as teams. This approach to evangelization certainly provided practical advantages. The disciples could lean on each other for mutual support and encouragement, helping each other to stay on task and to put their heads together to pray and problem-solve. This teamwork approach is just as rele-vant to us modern-day Christian stewards. It takes cour-age and commitment to go out and invite others into the Christian life. We need to work together to do it well.

MEATLOAF MONDAY & FOOD COLLECTION Our commitment to serve St. James Soup Kitchen is next Monday, July 15th Sign-up sheets are available in the Gathering Space. Please bring your sliced, wrapped and frozen meatloaf with you to Mass next weekend, July 13th and 14th and place it in one of the coolers pro-vided. If you cannot bring your meatloaf to Mass call Anne Roberts at 358-5616 or the Parish Office, 761-1608 to make arrangements.

THINKING OF BECOMING CATHOLIC? The St. Regis Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program will began in September. The RCIA program is not just for people who are new to the faith, it can benefit all. You would not only be growing in your knowledge but would also be able to provide encourage-ment to those who are new to the faith. So if you know of anyone that may be interested in becoming Catholic or just interested in learning what it is the Catholic Church believes and teaches, have them contact me. You can also give me their contact info and I will contact them. If you are Catholic and your spouse is not, talk to them and see if they would be willing to take the classes. They can de-cide after that whether they would like to become Catho-lic or not. Contact Ora Reyes at (816-668-5680), if you are interested or have questions.

ASSISTANCE FUND FOR THE NEEDY There is a special green envelope in your July packet to support the Assistance Fund for the Needy at St. Regis. Your contributions will help provide emergency assis-tance and food to those in need. You may place your en-velope in the regular collection anytime during the month of July.

GUIDE BOOK & DIRECTORY ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book & Directory for the church. This book will contain every-thing pertinent to our church: the various ministries, or-ganizations, committees, activities, functions and events plus a complete directory of all members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again being subsidized by local businesses that advertise. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about advertising in our book, please call the Church Office.

Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. It “will pay” to advertise in our new Guide Book & Directo-ry.

UPDATE MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION Does our Church database have YOUR family member-ship record correct? Here is your chance to update YOUR record for our annual Guide Book & Directory (if you haven’t already done so).

It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year. Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record published?

If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the information in the Guide Book & Directory is correct. The Church Office number is 761-1608.
