150 HARTFORD ROADThis large and very attractive property, which was built in the early 1940s, enjoys a superb position on the edge of the thriving town of Huntingdon. “Our parents bought this house over fifty years ago,” say their children, “and it’s where we were all brought up, so for us it’s very much a family home. It sits in a great location, not far from all of the shops and amenities of the town and just across from the river, so not only is it very convenient, but it’s also a lovely base from which to enjoy all of the beautiful surrounding countryside.”

Seller Insight This large and very attractive property, which was built in the early 1940s, enjoys a superb position on the edge of the thriving town of Huntingdon. “Our parents bought this house over fifty years ago,”

say their children, “and it’s where we were all brought up, so for us it’s very much a family home. It sits in a great location, not far from all of the shops and amenities of the town and just across from the river, so not only is it very convenient, but it’s also a lovely base from which to enjoy all of the beautiful surrounding countryside.”

This was Mum and Dads “forever” home, so the property as a whole has been very well maintained. The windows that were put in just a couple of years ago were the third set to be installed, the kitchen and all the bathrooms were updated in the last five to seven years, and the décor has been kept in really good order, so it’s beautifully presented throughout and, in our minds, move-in ready.”

“Our parents had the house extended quite considerably, so it’s a very spacious home, and there’s also a really nice flow from room to room. The large kitchen is adjacent to the dining room and also flows into the breakfast room, then on into the garden room. It’s an ideal layout for busy family life and also makes the house extremely conducive to entertaining.”

“The garden is one of the nicest features of the property,” says Kevin. “It was redesigned around twenty years ago with the aim of making it very low maintenance, so the majority is laid to lawn and edged with mature shrubs that add colour, but which don’t take an awful lot of looking after. There’s a big patio just outside the garden room, which is a lovely spot for BBQs or relaxing in the sun, and there’s direct access onto the park at the back of the house from the rear garden.”

“My favourite part of the house is the garden room. It’s so full of light and enjoys a lovely outlook.”

“When we were young we spent a lot of time down by the river. You can stroll along the banks to Hartford, and then on to Houghton, across to Hemingford and round to Godmanchester then back to Huntingdon in a big loop; it’s a lovely long walk, particularly on a sunny afternoon.”

“Mum and dad loved to entertain and had lots of wonderful parties over the years, and the living room was the place to which everyone seemed to naturally gravitate. It’s a very big room and the French doors meant that guests could spill out onto the garden when the weather was warm.”

“For us as a family, this has been a very happy home and we will all take with us some really wonderful memories.”
