Chaplain’s Weekly News 14 June Prayers for our farmers. God of wisdom, surround those in Government with
courage to negotiate fair trade for our famers both in the protection in the
Agriculture Bill in good faith and in the assistance to keep our small British
Abattoirs in business.
We pray for hope and unity as our farmers work together collaboratively as
farms like the in Nitate Poole Harbour Agricultural trading scheme are doing.
We pray for FCA test case to allow farmers to claim insurance compensation in
their diversification businesses.
God of hope, continue to guide us, as we seek to support one another. Help us
to be attentive to the lonely, the isolated, the fearful and those who are ill. In the
name of Jesus Christ, who walks alongside us in our farming life.
Amen.
Joke of the week- An old farmer was walking down the path to the pond when
he spotted a bullfrog. He reached down and grabbed the frog and started to put
him in his pocket when the bullfrog said, "Kiss me on the lips and I will turn into
a beautiful farmers wife." Again, the old farmer started to put the frog in his
pocket. The frog asked, "Didn't you hear what I said?" The farmer looked at the
frog and said," At my age I'd rather have a talking frog."
