Create Customer Master

1 PurposeIn this document, you identify new customers and create customer masters for them. If the customer ship-to master record is different from the sold-to master record, you create a ship-to master record and assign the ship-to master record to the sold-to master record. Otherwise, you create sales price conditions.

2 Prerequisites

2.1 Roles

UseThe following roles must have been installed to test this scenario in the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC). The roles in this Business Process Documentation must be assigned to the user or users testing this scenario. You do not need these roles if you are using the standard SAP GUI.

3 Process Steps

The process steps Create Customer Master Data (Centrally) and Create Customer Master Data (Accounting) are alternate process steps. Which step should be executed depends on the availability of SAP ERP SD scenarios.

3.1 Creating Customer Master Data (Centrally)

UseIn this activity, you create the customer master record.

Customer master data is created with the Sales and Distribution application SAP ERP SD. Customer master data is created in sales area and in company code, and provides all relevant information for sales processing and accounts receivable processing.

Only proceed with this section if processes of Sales and Distribution application (SAP ERP SD) are in scope. If this is not the case, refer to the section Create Customer Master (Accounting) in this document.

PrerequisitesSAP ERP SD functionality is in scope.

3.1.1 Creating Customer Master Data (Complete)

UseIn this activity, you create the customer master for services.

Procedure

1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

2. On the Customer Create: Initial Screen, enter Account Group, Customer (number), and Company Code (see table below).

3. Choose the appropriate Sales Organization (domestic / foreign), Distribution Channel, and Division.

Different account groups use different screen layouts. Therefore, some of the mentioned fields may not be visible when creating a customer.

4. Choose Enter.

5. On the Create Customer: General Data screen, choose the Address tab page and enter the following data:

8. If customers agreed on direct debits / bank collections, enter Country, Bank Key, and Bank Account (relevant for account group YB01) on the Payment transactions tab page. Set the flag Collection Auth. if needed.

9. Maintain the IBAN:

Option 1: The bank details (country, bank key, and bank account) and the relevant IBAN of the business partner are known.

(1) Choose IBAN.

(2) Check and confirm the proposed IBAN.

Option 2: The IBAN is known but the bank details (country, bank key, and bank account) of the business partner are unknown.

(1) Cursor on an empty line.

(2) Choose IBAN.

(3) In the IBAN Connverter: Enter the IBAN.

(4) Choose Generate Bank Details.

(5) Select Enter.

10. On the Contact Person tab page, enter Name, First Name, and Function.

11. Choose Company Code Data.

12. On the Account Management tab page, enter the correct Recon. Account, Sort key and the correct Cash mgmt group (domestic / foreign).

13. On the Payment transactions tab page, enter Terms of Payment. If relevant, maintain the Payment Methods (for example, AE) (account group YB01). Select Payment History Record.

14. On the Correspondence tab page, enter Dunn. Procedure and Account statement (account group YB01).

15. Choose Sales Area Data.

16. On the Sales tab page, make the following entries:

3.1.2 Creating Ship-to Master Record

UseIn this activity, you create the ship-to master record.

This activity is only necessary if the ship-to address and the sold-to address differ.

Procedure

1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

3. Choose Sales Area Data.

4. On the Partner Functions tab page, enter Partner Function (SH) and the corresponding Customer number (created in the previous step).

5. Choose Save.

Option 2: SAP NetWeaver Business Client (SAP NWBC) via Business Role

1. Access the transaction as follows:

2. Select the line with the sold-to-customer.

3. Choose Change.

Result You created the sold-to-master record in the system. To display the customer created in the system, proceed as follows:

In this activity, you update the credit master record for your customers.

ProcedureOption 1: SAP Graphical User Interface (SAP GUI)

1. Access the transaction as follows:

2. On the Customer Credit Management: Initial screen, enter customer number, Credit control area, and choose Status.

3. Choose Enter.

4. On the Customer Credit Management Change: Status screen, enter the Credit limit.

5. Choose Save.

Option 2: SAP NetWeaver Business Client (SAP NWBC) via Business Role

1. Access the transaction as follows:

2. Select the line with the customer you want to change.

3. Choose Edit Credit Limit.

4. On the Customer Credit Management Change: Initial screen, enter customer number, Credit control area and choose Status.

5. Choose Enter.

6. On the Customer Credit Management Change: Status screen, enter the Credit limit.

7. Choose Save.

ResultThe customer credit master record has been updated. To display the updated customer credit in the system, proceed as follows:

UseIn this activity, you create the CPD Customer.

Procedure

1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

3. Choose Enter.

4. On the Create Customer: General Data screen, on the Address tab page, enter Title, Name, Search term1 and Country.

5. Select a Language.

6. Choose Company Code Data.

7. On the Account Management tab page, enter the correct Recon. Account, Sort key and Cash mgmt group (domestic / foreign).

8. On the Payment transactions tab page, enter Terms of Payment, a Tolerance Group and the payment method U.

9. On the Correspondence tab page, enter Dunn.Procedure and an account memo (for example one-time customer).

10. Choose Sales Area Data.

11. On the Sales tab, enter the adequate Customer group, Cust.pric.proc. and Cust.Stats.Grp.

12. On the Shipping tab, enter Delivery Priority, Shipping Conditions and the adequate Delivering Plant as well as the Max. partial deliveries.

13. On the Billing Documents tab, make the following entries:

3.2 Creating Customer Master Data (Accounting)

3.2.1 Creating Customer Master Data (Accounts Receivable)

UseIn this activity, you create the customer master record in accounts receivable accounting.

The creation of customer master data in accounts receivable accounting does not include any customer master data needed for the Sales and Distribution application (SAP ERP SD). Therefore this process step should not be executed if processes in SAP ERP SD are used.

Do not proceed with this section if processes of Sales and Distribution application (SAP ERP SD) are applied. In this case, refer to section Create Customer Master (Centrally) in this document.

Procedure

1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

2. On the Customer Create: Initial Screen, enter Account group (see table below), Customer (number) (see table below), and the Company code.

4. On the Create Customer: General Data screen, on the Address tab page enter:

6. On the Control Data tab page, enter Vendor (relevant for account group YBVC).

7. On the Payment transactions tab page, enter Country, Bank Key, and Bank Account (relevant for account group YB01).Set the flag Collection Auth. if needed.

8. Choose Company Code Data.

9. On the Account Management tab page, enter the relevant Recon. Account, Sort key, and the correct Cash mgmt group (domestic / foreign).

10. On the Payment transactions tab page, enter Terms of Payment.If relevant, maintain the Payment Methods (for example AE) (account group YB01).

11. On the Correspondence tab page, enter Dunn. Procedure and Account statement (account group YB01).

12. Maintain the IBAN:

Option 1: The bank details (country, bank key, and bank account) and the relevant IBAN of the business partner are known.

3.2.2 Creating Customer Data Master (Accounts Receivable)

UseIn this activity, you create the CPD Customer.

Procedure

2. On the Customer Create: Initial Screen, enter the Account group: CPD (external no.) (YBOC), Customer (number, number range A - ZZZZZZZZZZ), Company code.

3. Choose Enter.

4. On the Create Customer: General Data screen, on the Address tab page, enter Title, Name, Search term1 and Country.

5. Chooseguage.

6. Choose Company Code Data.

7. On the Account Management tab page, enter the adequate Recon. Account, Sort key and adequate Cash mgmt group (domestic / foreign).

8. On the Payment transactions tab page, enter Terms of Payment, a Tolerance Group and the payment method U.

9. On the Correspondence tab page, enter Dunn.Procedure and an account memo (for example one-time customer).

10. Choose Save.

Result You created the CPD customer master in the system. To display the customer created in the system, proceed as follows:
