     The machine has two work areas

    allowing machining and set-up

    at the same time.

    Automatic tool and head change

    in addition to 22 CNC controlled

    axes are achieved via the Fidia

    M 30 control.

    Retrof it

    A Jungenthal vertical turning lathe

    at a power generation company in Essen,

    Germany – before and after modernisati-

    on and overhaul.

     The overhaul included the the retrofit-

    ting of an automatic toolchanger provi-

    ding shorter toolchange times, greater

    efficiency and naturally an improvement

    in the ease of operation.

    Safety around the machine was

    increased by the introduction of a

    working area enclosure. The comple-te overhaul lead to improved accu-

    racy and productivity of the machi-

    ne.

    User – EGT, Essen

     The general overhaul of this Köllmann

    rotor-slot milling machine, built in 1976,

    included replacement of the complete

    electrics, the integration of a central

    operator station, the addition of modern

    direct feedback and positioning systems,the complete mechanical overhaul of 

    spindle, drive, milling head,

    indexing and clamping system etc.

    Much improved output and

    reliability resulted from these

    steps.

    An eleven year old Droop+Rein

    FSL portal milling machine received

    a general overhaul and at the same

    time retrofitted with the latest

    generation of Bosch CNC control.

     The machine has a 5-axis capability

    and the contract also included the

    overhaul of 4 milling heads.

    AC servo motors were retrofitted to the

    feed drives and the complete hydraulic

    system was replaced.

     The machine was brought back to its ‘’as

    new’’ condition.
