Where has the year gone? Parents of students in Years 3 and 5 should have received the NAPLAN results. The staff will be analysing the results on the school development day at the beginning of Term 4. The results of that analysis will inform our whole school planning for Term 4 and into 2016. Sports: The students are attending swimming lessons this week and the second series commences next week. All is going well and we have had good reports about the students’ behaviour. Our school sports carnival went extremely well. Thank you to the P & C for providing lunches and all parents who attended and cheered on your children so vocally! Gold won the faction shield this year and Red scored the most points at the carnival for the Spirit shield. Choir performance at Burswood: Our students gave an outstanding performance at Burswood last week. I was devastated to be unable to attend but am delighted that they will be giving a repeat performance at school in the undercover area tomorrow Friday 18 th at 2.10pm. Parents are welcome to attend. Community links: A group of our students made a visit to the Banksia nursing home last week. This is a community link that we are trying out and hope that it will become a permanent link between the residents of Banksia and the students of Leda. The time spent together is beneficial both for our students who get a different perspective on life, and for the Banksia residents who get regular visitors. Massed Didgeridoo playing: A few of our students will be taking part in a massed didgeridoo playing at the Spectacles on Friday. Students from several schools in the Kwinana area will also be taking part. The students will be there from 9am until 11am and parents are welcome to attend from 10am. Dates for your diary: The Interschool Athletics Carnival is taking place on Friday of week 3 of next term. The Kids Matter expo will take place on Thursday of week 2. Due to swimming and Admin training commitments the assembly scheduled for week 10 of this term will now take place on Friday of week 1 term 4. Enjoy the rest of your week, Mrs Jones-Rowbottom - Principal Hello everyone, There are lots of exciting things happening in the classrooms as we head towards the end of the term. The students in the Kindy and Pre-primary class made ginger flavoured rocky road for Father’s day and of course had to have a taste. The students in Ms Trolio’s class are going to visit the fire station next week and the year 6 students in Mrs Morrison’s class will be attending a leadership camp at Rottnest next week. Mrs Howorth will be back next term. Have a safe holiday break. Acting ESC Principal - Ms Tufilli FRIDAY 25th September is the last day of of Term 3. A HUGE THANK YOU to Leda P & C, Leda Education Support Centre, Kwinana Woolworths and Baldivis Spud Shed for their

generous contribution to our Crunch and Sip for our annual sports carnival. Without their support we would not have been able to supply our students with a vast variety of fruit and vegetables.
