    WRITING RULES

    - The word in line 2: is composed of the preposition and the word . When we attach a preposition to a word that starts with wedo not delete , we keep it as in !$$/

    - The word in line 1: is composed of the preposition and the

word . But was deleted: this is a special case that occurs only

if you mention the full i.e. , but if we only write apart of it , for example:" In the name of Allaah" it is written with

-The word in line 4: has a (Madd sign) in the Qur'aan script over Alif!$yf9$#this sign when followed by it is read by lengthening the long

vowel of six counts. This is a Tajweed rule.

    - The words , in line 6: also have a (Madd sign) in the Qur'aanscript over Alif!$y9$#[!$tthis sign when followed by it is read bylengthening the long vowel of four counts. This is a Tajweed rule.

    - The preposition : has normally a fixed at the end, as we see inline 4, but in line 6, it came with at the end,is that contradicting therule we had before: the prepositions do not change of form ( )?No, because the change here is not due to the position of that word in the

sentence, but only to avoid reading two following each other: The

Sukoon at the end of the preposition and the one the following

(which always come before a ) in the word (Shaddah is

composed of + Mark) To avoid that, the first in the word is

    changed to with

Ex. Why Fat-hah? This is how Arabs used to say in that case.

    Advise for this lesson:

Know Your Lord through His names

!u!$oF{$#4o_t:$#$$s$p5"And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah, so call on Him by them"

Knowledge of the Names of Allaah is the basis for all other knowledge.

Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

Knowledge of the Most Beautiful Names of Allaah is the basis of all

other kinds of knowledge, for all of these other branches of knowledge

are devoted to either a command or a creation of His

Belief in Allaah, His Names and Attributes is one of the pillars of faith,

and is also one of the categories of Tawheed, i.e. 'Tawheed Al-asmaawas-sifaat'. It is not possible for anyone to worship Allaah in a complete

way until he has acquired knowledge of the Names and Attributes of

    Allaah.

All of Allaahs names are beautiful, this means, they reach the utmost

limits of beauty. That is because the Names include perfect Attributes

that have no possible defects in any way whatsoever.

Each of the names of Allaah also shows His attributes. For example:

(the All Merciful) is the name of Allaah the Exalted, and it includes

    perfect Mercy.

    Revision of the previous lessons

You might ask: why did we start explaining the conjugation of the Arabic wordat the very beginning of this book? The answer for this is that understanding the meaning of the sentence will notbe complete if students do not understand the position of each word in the

sentence i.e. is it ..etc. And that position is clarified by themark that the word has on the last letter.

Look carefully at the following example:

    -

In both sentences, we understand that the one who ate the hen ( )is because of the Dammah it has at the end. Even if we keep the object

( ) - which is first; it is still obvious to all of us that the henis the thing that was eaten (the object) because of the Fat-hah at theend.
