Today we hear of their return, and Jesus invites them to come away from the crowds and rest. But the crowds will not give them peace, and Mark reports that the disciples don’t even have time to eat. The crowds are so persistent that Jesus and his disciples can’t find a place to be alone. But Jesus is moved with pity and begins to teach the crowds. We who are Jesus’ disciples today have also been sent to share the Gospel with others. Maybe sometimes our commitment to following Jesus as his disciple leaves us feeling tired and overwhelmed. STUFF THE BUS 2021 While Stuff the Bus might look a little different this year (we are only collecting monetary donations, not actual school supplies), your help is still needed. Join the House of Compassion and Fraternal Order of Police to help provide nearly 1000 new backpacks full of school supplies for low income students in Marshall County. We need your help! COREY BROWN MEMORIAL FUN RUN This year the 3rd Annual Corey Brown Memorial 5k Fun Run/Walk will be held on Sunday August 1st at Noon, registration beginning at 11:30 AM. The route will take you throughout Riverside Cemetery. Due to the extensive tornado damage at Riverside, proceeds from the event will be given to Riverside Cemetery.
There will be a free will offering, lunch, homemade cookies, and Dave’s Coffee Cakes will be there for sale.
