Spiritual Adoption of Babies in Danger of Abortion
To help stop the anti-life push in the world at that time (1973 Roe vs Wade), the late Archbishop Fulton Sheen encouraged the spiritual adoption of an unborn baby. This is done by praying that one particular but unknown child’s life will be spared from abortion and allowed to continue to live. To help accomplish this, it was recommend-ed that an individual say the following daily prayer for a period of nine months:
Jesus, Mary and Joseph I love You very much.
I beg You to spare the life of (baby’s name) the unborn baby that I
have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.
A Mass for the Unborn will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m. for the following spiritually adopted babies prayed for by parishioners: Joseph Betty Rose Jonathon Daniel Robert John Mary Janet Betty Jesse James Clare Marianne John Paul Theresa Marie Colette Bobby Jesse Dominic John Michael For all the babies in Sault Ste. Marie who are in danger of abortion.
Sacrament of First Eucharist
We congratulate…. Melaine Audet

Eucharistic Adoration Ministry of Sault Ste. Marie Adoration Chapel
Located at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church The Roman Catholic community of the City of Sault Ste. Marie is privileged to have an Ad-
oration Chapel where Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is present at all times. This Chapel is located in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church at 114 MacDonald Avenue.
We are running into difficulties where a lot of the Adorers are getting to an age where they are unable to attend the Chapel due to sickness or lack of transportation.
The Chapel is open from 6:00 a.m. until Midnight.
Anyone can drop in for a visit during that time; however, we do need adorers committed to a weekly visit for an hour.
We urgently require an Adorer for the hours of:
Saturday 12:00—1:00 p.m. Please call one of the following coordinators of the Chapel if you would like to come to the Chapel to
experience the peace and tranquility of spending one hour weekly with Jesus:
Susanne Quinn-Perron 450-7732; Angela Rasaiah 949-2208; and Raffaela Medaglia 206-3968.

__________________________________________________ Beautiful plants in the church!
This summer we will continue to have many colourful & beautiful plants around in the church.

They are on a scheduled watering system & they will be well taken care of by the Décor Team.
Blessings to you all this summer!
FRIENDSHIP MEAL …..
Now looking at 2017: We are now into our 9th year
of hosting Friendship Meals on the third Sunday of every month.
We currently need hosts in 2017 for April, May, September, October, November & December (no meals in July or August)…..
**Just a thought: if your group/family/friends is too small to do it alone….let us know and perhaps we can combine 2(3) groups together to lighten the load.
Funds are available to assist with the cost, please remember the parish has funds designated to help.
Please consider hosting a meal next year, contact the Parish Office 705-942-8546
we need to have 2017 covered by September 30th 2016.
PRAYER MINISTRY
(praying for an “imprisoned” person)

If you would like to be a Prayer person in this ministry and intercede for those that are imprisoned, please fill out the form below and return to the parish office directly or by way of the collection basket by July 31st. The parish will receive from the Algoma Treatment & Remand Centre Chaplin, a list of the first name of the clients who wish for someone to pray for them. In filling out this form, you agree to pray daily for an imprisoned person whose name has been randomly assigned to you for one year.
