“We got along great. I think it was a really good project ...absolutely no trouble with them. We neverhad to help any of the first calf heifers and all the heifers that calved last year to Lowline bulls bredright back to calve in February ... they all bred first cycle. They are really strong calves ...thick andstout. We used them on good big framed heifers and I don’t think we lost a pound of weaning weight! If I’m calving heifers, I’ll want them all bred that way.”

-TERRY EVERETT, Kim, Colorado rancher

“I’ve never had heifers calve so fast! You don’t even know they’re going to calve and the next thingyou know the calf is there! “Healthy calves, absolutely no problems, all solid black, birth weights 50 -60 pounds.”

-Tom Loxtercamp, Greenwald, MN

“I’ve proved it to myself that my heifersresponded much better. They cleanedgood and bred back 100% - there was nocomparison. It saved at least 20% moreheifers into the next lactation. The Loalacalves eliminated a 30% problem rate withstraight Holstein calves out of first calfheifers. They barely knew they had a calfand took right off milking.”

-Tom Uphas, Sauk Center, MN Dairy Farmer

The Most Valuable Cattle in the World!

Lowline cattle were imported to North America in 1996 from Australia. They were developedfrom pure Angus stock at the Trangie Research Center by Australian animal scientists looking tobreed small cattle with no dwarfism gene. They are half size, black and polled, muscular andvery attractive.

Lowlines have demonstrated several traits that will have significant economic impact on beefherds in the United States and around the world. Three of the most important traits are calv-ing ease, efficiency and extremely high value carcasses.

Using Lowline bulls on your first calf heifers allows you to raise a high quality, efficient, well muscledcalf, eliminate all calving problems and get a higher breed back rate and quicker breed back on yourfirst calf heifers.

One North Dakota ranch reports 69 first calf heifers had Lowline calves with no death loss at birth andmany of the first calf heifers gained from 45 to 60 days in their calving interval.

Listen to these ranchers talk about their halfblood Lowline calves:

Calving Ease:

“Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful meat. Superb flavor and tenderness!”-Chris Johnson, Food and Beverage Manager, Bond Street Restaurant, marketing Loala Premium Beef Boneless New York Strip for Two for $60, ala carte in one of New York’s finest restaurants.

“This is a great high quality product to sell to our clientele at Meriwether’s.”-Marv Erdman, owner, Meriwether’s Restaurant on the Missouri River, Bismarck, ND

“You can expect the best steak you have ever had. The taste, the texture, the firmness, everything isthere. We’re really impressed with the quality of theproduct and that’s why we have decided to take it onand sell it in our market.”

-Ken Selzler, owner, John’s Quality Meats, Bismarck, ND

“We are convinced that Loala is the newest product toever, ever hit the beef industry. Can you imagine aT-bone steak an inch and a half thick and the size ofthe palm of your hand? The plate potential is justphenomenal!”

-Mickey Beriau, Executive Chef, Dole and Bailey, Boston, MA

These low maintenance cost cattle not only thrive on lowquality roughage, they do well on it. Its not just a third lesstotal pounds of feed per cow, its their ability to stay inexcellent body condition on low TDN rations that amazeyou!

In a Trangie Research Center study, Lowline cattleshowed a 40% increase in retail product yield per acre offof grass. This was primarily due to higher stocking rateand a significantly higher percent retail product yield. Thishigher than normal retail yield has been documentedrepeatedly by ultra sound measurements in the US and Australia that consistently show a 30% larger ribeye area per hundred weight. This has translated into a boneless retail product yield of 20 to 30% moreretail product per hundred weight of carcass in preliminary totally boned out product testing here in the US.

efficiency:

Superior Lowline genetics contribute to the success of the Loala Premium Beef program (featuringexclusively Lowline beef) in America’s finest restaurants. Developed from 100% pure AberdeenAngus ancestry, the earlier maturing Lowline genetics consistently marble better at an earlier age. This fact coupled with a unique, all natural feeding regime, causes retail beef customers to giveLoala Premium Beef these rave reviews:
