After each poetic element quote a line (or lines) from the poem that contains an example of that element.

Cite the quote by simply listing the line number or numbers at the end in a parenthetical citation.

Highlight or mark the instances of the element in the quote.

You will not receive credit for a quote that does not have the element marked.

You may only quote a line once, even if it contains more than one poetic element.

REMEMBER: IF THE WORDS RHYME, THEY CANNOT BE COUNTED AS AN EXAMPLE OF ASSONANCE OR CONSONANCE.
