We, the unified faith community of OUR LADY OF FATIMA PARISH, include the churches of Saint Peter, Our Lady of Hope, Saint Michael, Holy Rosary and Immaculate Conception. We are a diverse, merged community with a long history of faith. As a community of faith, we seek to worship together and grow with the sacraments as we nurture a love of Christ and one another. As disciples of Christ through Catholic education we strive to help the youth and children explore, understand and practice their faith. As a body of Christ, we are committed to evangelization through Catholic education and fellowship. We seek to become a strong, active community rooted in charity.

From the Desk of Father Bosco Dear Friends, The official end of the Holy Year of Mercy is this weekend. When the Holy Year of Mercy began, at the “Presentation of the Jubilee”, Pope Francis said, “I have decided to announce an Extraordinary Jubilee which has at its centre the mercy of God. It will be a Holy Year of Mercy. We want to live in the light of the word of the Lord: ‘Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful’ (Luke 6:36).”
The purpose of this Holy Year of Mercy has been to highlight the importance of being merciful to one another, as God is to us. Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy” (Matthew 5:7). The Holy Year of Mercy presented a wonderful opportunity to Catholics: time to focus on and practice the virtue of mercy in our own lives, homes, workplaces, and communities. Mercy is the caring for the needs of people’s minds, hearts, and lives. It means to share in God’s forgiveness and love. The doors of mercy opened at the start of the jubilee of mercy will be closed this weekend to symbolize the closing of the year. But we as Catholics are called to keep the metaphorical doors of mercy open, the doors of our minds and hearts and homes. We need to explore the many opportunities to keep our hearts open to receive God’s mercy and to show mercy to one another and continue the spirit of the Holy Year of Mercy as the Jubilee comes to a close. May God bless you and your loved ones in the week ahead.

OUR CALL TO STEWARDSHIP “...giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light.” Colossians 1:12 God wants us to the happy! Instead of looking at the Ten Commandments as being restrictive and telling us what we can’t do, look at them as guides for living a joy-filled and peaceful life. Most of our problems arise when we put our own needs first or spend most of our time trying to acquire “things”. Try putting God first in all things instead.
Please pray for our sick: Bernie Wiegel, Glenn Garvey, Dale Symons, Eileen White, Donna McDermott, Joyce Von Rueden, Rita Marty, Shirley Acherman and Heidi Brunkow Moran. If you know of someone seriously ill and needs community prayers, please inform Father Bosco.
