This, A sumption High School, Davenport, Iowa, is our home front. It is here we became "enme hed in mankind's mo t de perate truggle." A umption was the battlefield for the most crucial campaign known to man - "to fulfill a destiny, to find maturity, to find a soul." Thus it was here we bore the hardships of growth in a difficult world. Here we confronted and overcame our enemy, each personal victory contributing to the tide of the battle. Collectively, we discovered adulthood. Individually, we found our "separate peace."

Spiritual The most important struggle, that for personal identity, leads each to probe the depths of his beliefs and experience. Dis atisfied with traditional explanations, we have explored new ideas, both individually and through groups such as the new Student Apostolate movements, and have discovered that the truggle is not easily fought, and rarely won decisively.

HoiDecoiDing Homecoming '66 was a coage of successes and failures, tears and laughter, excitement and morningafter blues that mark any important battle. Who will forget the beautiful queen reigning over the festive weekend, the much-desired parade of almostbuilt floats, the gridiron victory, the bonfires, the pep rally vibrant with enthusiasm.
John Cain
Each also has his own personal memorie : napkins and nails, a lovely corsage, tears for the queen (and for those who didn't quite make it), laughter for the male cheerleaders, yells for the team. Even after the last decorations were tom down and burned on Sunday morning, the spirit of Homecoming remained in the memories of each student. This encounter was a success. "Say ... As we say farewell to the world we have known, and each embarks on a separate course, a bond still unites our heart . We will work, each in his own way, toward the goal that has challenged mankind since the beginning of time. This new struggle is our , accepted willingly. Whether we choo e the gun, the microscope, the pen, or the Bible as our weapon, we will fight with dedication and determination. Our struggle is to end struggle, to find peace - between nations, among men, and, most important, within our own hearts.
