Per R&S RFI # 1289R2 response / CO# 0186, the SK-158 (attached) calls for minimum requirement for penetrations to

the face of stud. For penetrations greater than 1 diameter and the offset from the valve box assembly, the minimum

distance for penetrations cannot be met. After field review of the valve box detail (see attached) that was provided, please

    confirm the following is acceptable:

    1) Due to the minimum requirement by SK-158 in CO# 186, the valve box will need to be installed further back on the

stud to meet the design intent. In order to install the valve box and meet the minimum requirement and not penetrate theflange, the box will need to be installed further back. This will require the valve box to be set back and will require a

x mud ring to be installed between the valve box and face of drywall to compensate for the added depth.

    2) The Valve Box Detail calls for x , 16 GA steel C shape channel attached to the perimeter of the valve box. As

previously stated, the valve box will need to be installed back and will require a x mud ring. Confirm that x ,

16 GA tube steel can be utilized for the valve box detail in lieu of the x 16 GA steel C channel.

See attached photo for an example of the mud ring that will be used for valve box installation. Note that this tied to schedule

    activity H3190.
