    God or enlightenment is the ultimate pleasure, uninterrupted happiness. No such thing

    exists. Your wanting something that does not exist is the root of your problems.

    Transformation, moksha, liberation, and all that stuff, are just ariations of the same

    theme! permanent happiness. The body can"t take uninterrupted pleasure for long# it

    would be destroyed. $anting to impose a fictitious permanent state of happiness on the

    body is a serious neurological problem.

    % am not out to liberate anybody. You hae to liberate yourself, and you are unable to do

    There is no teaching of mine, and neer shall be one. "Teaching" is not the word for it. "Teaching"

    implies a method or a system, a techni'ue or a new way of thinking to be applied in order to

    bring about a transformation in your way of life. $hat % am saying is outside the field of

    teachability# it is simply a description of the way % am functioning. %t is just a description of the

    natural state of man (( that is the way you, stripped of the machinations of thought, are also

    functioning.

    The natural state is not the state of a self(reali)ed or God(reali)ed man, it is not a thing to be

    achieed or attained, it is not a thing to be willed into existence# it is there (( it is the liing state.

    This state is just the functional actiity of life. *y "life" % do not mean something abstract# it is the

    life of the senses, functioning naturally without the interference of thought. Thought is an

    interloper, which thrusts itself into the affairs of the senses. %t has a profit motie! thought directs

    the actiity of the senses to get something out of them and uses them to gie itself continuity.

    Your natural state has no relationship whatsoeer with the religious states of bliss, beatitude,

    and ecstasy# they lie within the field of experience. Those who hae led man on his search forreligiousness throughout the centuries hae perhaps experienced those religious states. +o can

    you. They are thought(induced states of being and as they come, so do they go. rishna

    -onsciousness, *uddha -onsciousness, -hrist -onsciousness, or what hae you, are all trips

    in the wrong direction! they can neer be grasped, contained, much less gien expression to, by

    any man. That beaten track will lead you nowhere. There is no oasis situated yonder# you are

    stuck with the mirage.
