2. Underline words with long a, spelled ai.
Cait and Granddad waited for the train to Lake Rain. Cait had a fishing pole and a pail of bait. Cait and Granddad got on the train at eight. The train came to the Lake Rain Trail at ten past eight. Cait and Granddad got off the train with Cait’s fishing pole and pail of bait. Cait and Granddad went up the Lake Rain Trail. Lake Rain was a good lake for fishing. They hiked on the trail to Lake Rain. At last, Cait and Granddad got to Lake Rain. Cait aimed her fishing line and made it fly into Lake Rain. Cait’s first fish got away because her fishing pole broke. “I can fix that!” Cait exclaimed. Cait fixed the fishing pole. She used a fly as bait and aimed for Lake Rain. Cait did not fail. No more fish got away! Cait got eight fish! Cait and Granddad hiked home with her pole, pail, and eight fish.
