January Homework Choice Card Choose ONE activity from each row, each week. Color the box you complete using the following code: Week 1- Color Red, Week 2- Color Blue, Week 3- Color Green, Week 4- Color Yellow. Please keep this chart in your folder. It will be used for the entire month of November. Please return completed work with Math homework in the Daily folder each Friday. Spelling ABC Order Write your words in ABC order. If you have two of the same letters then go to the next letter. Adding My words Vowels are 10 and consonants are 5. Write your words and then add up the value of each word. Ex. cat 5+10+5=20 Story, Story Write a silly story using all of your spelling words. Riddle Me Write a riddle for each spelling word. Don’t forget to answer them. Ex. I am cute. I use a bottle. What am I? a baby Magazine Words Use an old magazine or newspaper and find your words or letters to your words. Glue them down. Reading RAZ- KIDS Read and complete 3 books and test on raz-kids.com. Nonfiction Text Read as many nonfiction stories you can find. Compare and contrast the different parts of a nonfiction book. Ex. table of contents, photograph, captions Poetry Read poems and discuss the use of rhythm, rhyme, and alliteration. Fact or Details Identify if information is important facts or details while reading nonfiction text. Write questions ask relevant questions and seek clarification while reading nonfiction text. Writing Subject, Verb Sentences Create five different nouns and five different verbs and create 5 sentences with them. Composition Create a composition with a heading sentence, three supporting sentences, and a closing sentence over something of interest to you. All About It Write an All About Book that is all about something that you know a lot about. Write a Story Write a story about what you did over the winter break. Snowman Disguise Create a poem about your snowman.
