Plockton Housing Development

In July 2010 Global Construction In July 2010 Global Construction completed a £3.4 million project to build 24 new homes in the West Coast village of Plockton. Built for Lochalsh and Skye Housing Association, nine of the houses are low- cost starter homes that will be offered for joint ownership, with tenants buying into a percentage of the buying into a percentage of the mortgage, with the remainder being available to rent.

ChallengesAt the outset of the project Global Construction discovered there was much Construction discovered there was much more peat under the site than expected, therefore huge amounts of peat had to be removed and replaced with more suitable material before work could start.
