AWAKENED CITIZENSHIP PROGRAMME

Date & Venue: 05.04.2019 – 06.04.2019 Ramakrishna Mission. New Delhi

Conducted by : Ramakrishna Mission. New Delhi Presented by : Facilitators of the ACP Programme Agenda : To initiate Awaken Citizenship Programme Participants : 2 teachers from ASPAM Scottish School- Ms. Meenakshi Sarkar and Ms. Deepali Bhan Highlights

The two days Training Programme held by Ramakrishana Mission was to facilitate the trainers with the Modules of Awakened Citizenship Programme so that the Trainers become Facilitators integrate and implement them in their School Curriculum.

On the first day training session was conducted by the facilitators and on the second day the trainers were asked to go through the modules and teach in the class as per the lesson plan and after the demo teaching certificates were given to the trainers.

The training kit has also been provided by the Mission. Outcome:

The ACP programme was definitely awakening, modules are child-centric and can be integrated and implemented in school curriculum easily.

The trainers after their demo teaching received certificates and have become Certified ACP facilitators.

GENIUS CORNER TRAINING

Agenda: To set up personalized lab for students To make the teachers aware about Genius corner module in personalized settings To understand the use of technology for recapitulation of concept by the students To get a clear understanding regarding the academic level of attainment of students

Log in Id and password of students and teachers created Programme to be aligned with the timetable Students will go to the lab once in a week Personalized Training Programme Programme to be in sync with the curriculum Link will be open 24 x 7

The presentation highlighted that each topic will have remediation with a video support. The students can go through the video and then answer the questions given to them .The same report can be viewed by parents also.

Entire depth information was given in the module according to the each and every student. Each student’s profile report can be taken out separately. In this module personalized workbook will be provided to the students so that they can

improve on each topic wherever they lack in. To analyze and diagnose the students of their areas of improvement in the respective subject.

Outcome: Monday onwards the programme to be started, this programme will give a clear map of the

students’ concept understanding. Teachers were able to understand the module so as to analyze and diagnose the students of

their areas improvement in the respective subjects.

Appreciating the teachers and staff for their contribution and good work. To motivate others to excel and vie for the award To present awardees with a trophy, badge and cash prize.

Participants: Principal, Head Senior, Sr. Coordinator, Admin staff and teachers of ASPAM Scottish. Highlights:

The ceremony began with the address by the Principal, Ms. Meenakshi Zarabi. Teachers and admin staff are appreciated for their good work in this monthly employee

motivation initiative. Ms. Neerja Tyagi was given award and certificate among the teachers for her contribution in

handling diligently the exam dept.(Primary wing) Mr. Vishal Rana and Mr. Yogesh from Admin Dept. were also appreciated for their

contribution to system. The ceremony ended with the motivational speech by the Principal.

Outcome: The purpose of the programme is to motivate all and inspire each member of ASPAM to work for the best towards the betterment of the system. Pictures

The venue was well decorated for the Orientation.

The turn up of the parents attending the session was to the full seating capacity.

The parents were greeted with a wonderful performance of welcome song that was followed by ASPAM Anthem by our Scottish choir group under guidance of the music teacher Mr.Vijay Prakash.

The program was initiated by the lighting up of the lamp and it was followed by Ganesh

Vandana that was the breathtakingly presented by young ASPAMAINS.

Session started with the introduction of the school and the promoters and the purpose of the

This was followed by the introduction of Principal ma’am, Mrs. Meenakshi Zarabi. To the

gathering

Principal ma'am shared the roadmap of the school and the developments of the school for the next academic session.

Ma'am introduced how ASPAM ‘s unique curriculum is the amalgamation of the best practices from Maria Montessori with Fritzoy and Saar.

Learning Corridors , Kid Fit activities and all curricular and co curricular activities and meals and take away like daily connect with parents, Monthly Notes were discussed.

The initiative of ‘Care call’ has been shared with the parents to ensure 360 degree connection with them.

Pre- Primary teachers and Coordinators were introduced to the Parents. The introduction included their name, teaching grade and their passion for teaching.

The transport staff was also introduced to the parents.

The session concluded with the Vote of thanks

Thereafter the parents took a round of various Labs and Learning Corridors of the school.

Outcome:

It was an interactive counselling session wherein queries of the parents were satisfied.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the parents to know about the next academic session and equip themselves accordingly.

Highlights:

Thematic morning assembly was started by the school choir with the prayer song ‘HEY SHARDE MAA’ prayer to Goddess Saraswati for bestowing ASPAMIANS with knowledge, kindness, humbleness.

The school was decorated with balloons from the entrance till the foyer. The students were greeted by the cartoon characters like Doraemon . New students and teachers were called on to the stage and were welcomed by Principal Ma’am

by applying tilak. It was followed by the welcome song by the students of grade I, II & III. Primary wing students presented Ganesh Vandana. They were attired beautifully as per the

theme of the day. The talk for the day was presented by Ms. Anju Zutshi. 6 students who celebrated their birthday on the day were blessed in the assembly where they

were given toffees. Their birthday song was sung by the music teacher. It was followed by welcome address by Principal Ma’am. Assembly ended with National anthem.

Outcome:

The thematic morning assembly taught the Aspamians that welcome is an important part of life as this creates the feeling of oneness and camaraderie.

Agenda:

Intra class Group Discussion activity To exchange views, opinions, problems, issues with each other. To present their views confidently during the discussion. To share and understand opinions individually and in group.

Participants: Students of Grade IX , X & XII Highlights:

Students were divided into groups of four or five by the grade mentors. All the students participated in the competition. Each student was enthusiastically involved in the activity Every student gave his/her introduction in brief. Students expressed his/her views on goal settings. It was an interactive session. Students also exchanged views, opinions, problems, issues with each other which was guided

by the teacher present in the class. One student from each class was selected as the best performer and will be given the

certificate. The students were judged on the basis of their oratory and leadership skills.

Two students from each class will be declared as winners based on their performance in

accordance to the parameters shared with them. Winners will be given the certificates.

Outcome: The students actively participated in the discussion and they will be able to confidently

present themselves during the discussion It helped them to develop their skills of sharing and understanding opinions individually and

in group. Students are now able to showcase their leadership qualities effortlessly.

INTRA CLASS LEAF PRINTING COMPETITION

To develop spirit of competition. To encourage and enhance creative genius in students To develop appreciation of art in them

Participants: Students of Grade I to VIII Highlights:

All the students participated in the competition and brought their own material. Each student showcased his/her creative of in leaf printing on an A3 size sheet. Students were excited to exhibit their designs on the sheet. The involvement of the students showcased their enthusiasm. Five entries from each grade were submitted to the activity department. The students were judged on the basis of neatness, presentation and creativity skills. Two students will be declared as the winners. Winning entries from each class and will be awarded with certificates.

Outcome:

The students were engaged enthusiastically in the activity showcased their creativity and imagination.

Through this creativity they learnt not only praise the other person’s work but also learnt to appreciate art.

BLESSING CEREMONY – (PRE-PRIMARY WING)

To bless the newly enrolled students of Pre Primary Wing To welcome them on their 1st day to school in the academic session 2019-20.

Participants: All students of Nursery and KG, Teachers, Admin staff. Highlights:

The venue was well decorated for the Blessing Ceremony. The turn up of the students with their parents on their first day of the session was good. The students were greeted with their favourite Disney Cartoon Characters like Mickey,

Charlie Chaplin, Donald Duck etc. at the school’s reception. The program was initiated with the Tilak Ceremony of the students by the Principal ma'am.

They were welcome in their classes by their respective grade mentors. Session started with the welcome song in the class rooms Hand impressions of the students were taken in their personalized folders. The session concluded with the Good Bye song Most of the parents came to the school to pick up their wards during dispersal.

Outcome:

It was an amazing interactive session where the students enjoyed thoroughly their First Day in the school.

To encourage the students to take challenges To maintain a high self- esteem despite adversities.

The thematic morning assembly started with the prayer song ‘ITNI SHAKTI HUMME…..’i.e, students prayed for bestowing them with knowledge , kindness ,humbleness

The whole school took pledge with Ms. Arousha Wasim of Grade VII A. A beautiful thought related to the theme was presented by Jyotsna Gautam of Grade VII A. It was followed by the skit presentation by the students on Arunima Sinha who is the first

female amputee to scale Mount Everest and Mount Vinson. She was a national level volleyball player who was pushed from a running train by some robbers in 2011 while she was resisting them. As a result, one of her legs had to be amputated below the knee.

The students were updated with the News by Adnan and Dev Yadav of Grade VII A. The students were enlightened with the theme of the day through a talk by Ms. Arzoo. Students who had their birthday on the day were showered with wished birthday in the

assembly where they were distributed toffees and birthday song was sung by the music teacher.

It was followed by appreciation to the well- dressed students. Assembly ended with the National anthem.

Outcome: The students learnt that self -esteem is an important part of life which results from tackling

challenges. It is so important to maintain a high self- esteem, belief in self in order to build upon awareness in all that they do.

Thematic morning assembly started with the prayer song ‘TUMHI HO MATA” by the school choir.

The students took pledge with Vansh of Grade VI B . A thought related to the theme was presented by Razia Rabby of Grade VII B. Choir of the school presented a song conveying the need to save the earth of “PLASTIC TIK

NA PAYE RE…..”. It was a mesmerizing performance by them. It was followed by the dance performance by the students of Grade VII B,VIB. The students were updated with the News by Niharika Gupta of Grade VII B. The children were enlightened with the theme of the day with a talk by Ms.Mili. The students having their birthday on that day were greeted and blessed. They were

distributed toffees and birthday song for them was sung by the music teacher. It was followed by appreciating the students who were well-dressed in the assembly. Assembly ended with the National anthem.

Outcome: The students became aware that protecting the planet earth is extremely important for survival and sustenance of self. The assembly also reiterated to them to be responsible custodians of the earth.

RED DAY CELEBRATIONS - REPORT (PRE-

To help children recognise the colour “RED” To foster their understanding of the primary colour Red To reinforce the concept through experiential learning by doing

Participants: All the students Of Nursery and KG and their respective teachers. Highlights:

The venue was well decorated with red colour paper craft work like water melons, strawberries, lady birds and cherries. All the students came dressed up in Red Clothes. The students ate Red fruits in their Mini-Lunch. Students undertook activities like tearing and pasting on Red strawberry and finger printing on Red lady bird respectively. The paper craft work was organized to reinforce the understanding of colour Red.

Outcome:

It was an amazing interactive session where the little ones enjoyed and learnt about the primary colour Red and its beauty through hands on learning.

Participants: Students of Grade VI to VIII Highlights:

All the students participated in the competition. Each student was involved in showcasing his/her creativity in the collage making on the

topic unity in diversity. Students were excited to do the activity as they were involved in creating designs on the

sheet. The involvement of the students showcased their enthusiasm. Four entries from each grade were submitted to the activity department. The students were judged on the basis of their neatness, presentation and creativity skills. Winner will be declared after review of the shortlisted entries. The winning entry from each class will be given the certificate of appreciation.

Outcome: The students were engaged enthusiastically in the activity showcasing their creativity and

imagination. Through this activity they worked as a team and got a chance to research and thereafter

explain the diversity of our culture.

Workshop : Pro-Social Peer Moderator Program

Participants: Students of different schools. Four students from ASPAM Scottish, Abdul Qadir, Sehar Khan, Yashi Saraswat & Sania along with Ms. Sheeba attended the workshop. Highlights:

A talk on care for the environment Discussion on how happy Earth can lead to happy people. Lack of awareness among the people; distance from ground reality. Belief that human is separate from nature. Risks of neglecting environmental issues were emphasized on. Students were made to understand the adverse effects of using plastic bags, straws etc. Students through activities were encouraged to bring a positive change in the society. Students were shown informative PPTS Discussion on how we can make Earth garbage free. The session concluded with students planting saplings.

Outcome:

It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to know about the ongoing environmental problems

It made students understand about their responsibility of finding ways to make Earth a healthy living place to live in.

Participants: Students of Grade I to V Highlights:

Every grade was divided into 4 teams - King, Queen, Bishop and Castle.

Students brought their own materials.

All the students participated in the competition

Dishes like tacos, salads, milkshakes, burgers, gol-gappas , pan cakes, paneer chat, doughnuts

and many such items were presented by the students.

The involvement of the students showcased their enthusiasm.

Ms. Poonam Sharma and Ms. Sonam judged the competition in each grade.

The students were judged on the basis of presentation, neatness, taste and their explanation

regarding the recipe they have taken up for the competition.

Results were submitted to the activity department.

Winners will be declared from each grade and will be awarded with certificates.

Outcome:

A little competition mixed with teamwork makes a great learning environment. Students gained valuable life skills by working together as a team to create and cook. Students gained confidence by presenting and speaking about their recipes to the judges.
