S1-3 Achievement Tokens

This year the school was kindly donated a sum of money that was to

be used to celebrate great things going on within and out with the

school. This lead to the installation of the House boxes outside the

Headteacher’s office, and the purchase of House tokens.

Tokens will be handed out to any S1-3 pupil who does something

outstanding in school, extracurricularly or out with the school setting.

The token the pupils receive represent the House the pupil is in. Tokens

are recorded by staff on termly House basis, and an individual annual

basis. This will result in two potential sets of rewards for the pupils.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Termly House rewards will take place at the end of each term. The

winning house will be announced and all pupils will gather in the Hall

to take part in something fun together. The individual rewards will

happen at the end of the Academic year (in May or June) and will

likely be an experience outside school.

THE REWARDS

The aim of this Newsletter is to highlight the fantastic things our pupils

are doing on a daily basis. We hope this system will encourage

everyone to share everything they are doing for themselves and

others, as well as recognising when pupils go the extra mile in class

The outcome of the Token system has been incredibly positive and

our S1-3 cohort have really got on board with the system, a huge well

done to you all; keep up the hard work! If you have received a token

since August you should be incredibly proud of yourself. The aim of

this newsletter is to highlight some of the outstanding things going on

around our school over the last few months. Enjoy!

A word from... Mr Paterson - Head Teacher

It has been an absolute delight meeting and shaking hands of every

single student who achieved a token , and rang the bell outside my

room. It has been equally delightful to see students appreciate that we

take this as seriously as they do. – the bell is literally rung every 5 minutes

or so; deputes and myself committed to congratulate every single

student. The sheer sense of joy and pride on students faces as they tell

us about their achievements has been simply wonderful. Long may it

continue!

Mr Campbell - Deputy Head Teacher

Head of Arran House

Myself and Mr Robertson are very proud of each and every pupil who

has contributed to the Arran total. The effort from so many pupils has

been outstanding. Next term, the process starts again and if we don’t

win the House Awards for the first block, we are confident that you will

continue to work hard to be the best you can. The positivity, joy and

sense of achievement from every pupil, has been outstanding. What a

great team effort – well done everyone!

Mr Todd - Deputy Head Teacher

Head of Skye House

I’d like to offer a huge congratulations to everyone in Skye who has

been awarded a token and contributed to our impressive count. It is

fantastic to hear about all of your achievements in class and great to

see Skye pupils get so enthusiastic and involved in the points system. Ms

Clarke, Ms Oliver and I are all extremely proud of all of your efforts; and

if you are still to achieve a token - your time is now!

Ms Stewart - Deputy Head Teacher

Head of Orkney House

Mr MacLeod and I are very proud of the outstanding achievements for

all pupils in Orkney House. All tokens were thoroughly deserved and it

has been lovely to see your enthusiasm in taking part. We have all

enjoyed watching the columns grow everyday . We look forward to

seeing more of the same next term from all Orkney pupils.

Congratulations!
