Welcome to the 12th Annual “Buy the Beef Bull Sale”. We welcome new buyers and bidders and thank the past supporters of our sales. We thank Nancy for all her help and support over the years as it was a pleasure to do business with her. Nancy has dispersed her purebred herd and it was a sad day to see her go. We wish her well and the best in her future endeavours. You will still see some Sunset influence as I purchased some seedstock at the sale. Once again Bouchard Livestock will be managing the sale so if you have any questions please give us or them a call to help with the bull selection. Check out the videos on the website. We have a sound functional set of bulls that will meet your needs whether it be a power bull, a heifer bull or somewhere in between. We continue to AI the majority of the sale bulls and select herdsires that will offer fresh consistent genetics. The heifers are straight off the top of the replacement pen and have been getting nothing but silage. BULL DEVELOPMENT & DELIVERYThe bulls are fed a corn-silage-based growing ration to allow expression of genetic potential. We strive for sound, functional and fertile cattle. Bulls may be boarded until May 1, free of charge. If you choose to do this, we strongly suggest you insure your purchases. We would like two-year-olds taken home sale day or we will deliver with a week. We follow a strict vaccination program prescribed by the Brydges and Taylor Vet Clinic.

EPD EXPLANATIONEPD’s are “Expected Progeny Differences”. They are a useful tool in selection. EPD’s incorporate theindividual animal with its averaged ancestry performance. EPD’s do not compare across cattle breeds, they are individuall based per breed. EPD’s indicate a probable variance above or below breed average for that trait for a given bull’s progeny. Use them for guidance in the direction you want your herd to go.

Welcome from Bouchard Livestock Welcome to the Annual JAS Red Angus 12th annual Buy the Beef Bull Sale. JAS will offer you a very functional set of beef bulls developed with longevity in mind. The offering will feature bulls bred with calving ease in mind as well as a large group that are specifically designed and bred for those herds needing weaning weight and performance. This sale will have a number of bulls that will command purebred interest and also a large group that are ideally designed for those commercial producers that market their calves by the pound. Also the JAS offering will have a group of those extra age bulls that are ideally suited to those larger pastures, possibly in rougher conditions, with the ability to service a few more cows. I urge you to give Doug or Jason a call and discuss your herd bull needs. Darnell and I will also be available to assist in any way required, just give us a call on the listed cell phone numbers. BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No by-bidding will be permitted.
