Impressive History

In 1864, when progress started to get golng, the first erigine factory In the worid was founded by Nikolaus August Otto and Eugen Langen. In a joint effort they developed Otto's idea for power to the production stage: the atmospheric gas englne, Gasmotorenfabrik DEUTZ AG. at Cologne supplied thts new power for the worid. Nikolaus Otto had developed the four-stroke cycle prlnciple In 1861 based on the one haif H. P. atmospheric englne and in 1876 this was combined with the I. C. englne which started the age

of worid motorlsation. DEUTZ motorised Industry, trade, farming, road traffic, rail, shipplng and air trafflc. DEUTZ Is today Europe's ieading manufacturer of agricultural tractors. The complete line Is ten tractor models. nine of which are offered In four-wheei drive versions and in addition the INTRAC SYSTEM 2000. DEUTZ. through the parent company of Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz AG Is the world's largest manufacturer of air-coolod diesel engìnes.

diesel engine for low running costs The D 80 06 Is extremely well ptaced in its power class. The 6-cylinder air-cooied diesel engine has a wide speed rango which Initiates Its versatility and a long stroke engine produces a high torque figure with a rise of 13.5 %. Piston displacement is 5652 cm^ Wherever there Is a demand for high performance coupied with economy, the D 80 06 is today's answer. The D 80 06 uses the direct air-cooied principie. This renders thermostat, radiator, water cooler and pump, gaskets, water hoses and anti-freeze unnecessary. Air-cooied DEUTZ diesels are cooied by a balanced heavy-duty fan. A cooiing duct system, proved a million times over, ensures equa! cooiing for ali cylinders. Since the D 80 06 reaches its normal operating temperature very quickly, it can be run under Ioad right away. This also means reducing the wear caused by cold running diesel exhaust corrosion. When using air cooiing, the operating temperature is not limited by the boiling point of the cooiant. To the contrary. it makes it possible to run the engine at a higher, more favourable operating temperature. This improves combustion and reduces fuel consumption. There is no

need for cooiing air adjustment during tractor operation neither in extremely low nor in extremely

high amblent temperatures. There is good starting with a DEUTZ D 80 06. This is ensured by a strong starter motor, a heavy-duty battery and a cold starting device. The 28 ampere 3-phase alternator charges the

battery even at idiing speed. A prerequisite for a long-lived service of I. C. engines is a clean combustion air. Therefore, DEUTZ SICCOPUR air cleaner with cyclone precleaner are standard equipment on DEUTZ tractors.

This ensures an almost 100 °/o cleanliness of the intake air. DEUTZ has fitted the D 80 06 with a 120-litre tank. This is enough fuel for a hard day's work without the need for refuelling. Modula construction — Air cooiing is weil suited for modula construction of the engine; cylinders are individually replaceable; many components are identical and therefore interchangeable v^ithin the entire engine range.

Single lever operation transfermatic System

The DEUTZ TRANSFERMATIC SYSTEM hydraulic lift Works exlraordinarily well. Joltless control and equal working depth are ensured by a well-tuned collective action of a gentiy and quicKiy responding control unit, a simple and low-friction control lìnkage and a larga draft pick-up range. Single-lever control. After pre-selectìng elther draft control or posìtion control, the work to be done is controiied by only one lever. And also the free-floatlng o( implements, raising and lowering. Automatic height kick-out applies

at standard working position for 3-point linkage mounted imple­ments thus ensuring a required working height. By turning a limlt lever, the raising to standard higher can be locked meohanically and the lowering hydraulically. In both cases the DEUTZ transfermatic system has an Independent pressurised oil flow from pump to control valve, which only activates when height adjustment is necessary. The implement is carried on thls oil cushion In the servIce cylinder (shock absorber effect) and thus the tractor and the implement are

subject to less fatigue. The system raises implements higher than the international 3-poìnt linkage standard. The automatic lowering control valve prevents fast down drop of heavy implements. Automatic side stabilisatìon when the implement is raised to the top stabilising In centre position. Thìs is parlicutarly important when ploughing. when raising the plough to make a head land turn, the plough is arrested automatically in centre position and cannot swing to the side. Ampie adjustment on both lift rods and side tilt compensation for wide implements.

Heavy-duty transmission fora heavy-duty tractor. The D 8006 ìs equipped with a fully synchronised high/low range gearbox giving a total of 12 forward working gears, and 4 creep gears. and 7 reverse gears. there are two ranges for forward movement and one range for reverse, wIth on-the-move range seiection from fast to slow and between gears. In the forward range, the 12 basic forward speeds are from

1.4 to 20.0 m. p. h. These speeds are well graded wlthout overlap and a clear shift pattern makes for easy gear control. With this fully synchronised transmission (System Porsche) the D 80 06 has the right speed for every Job. There are tour creep gears from 0.6 to 1.2 m. p. h. for Inter-row cultivatìon work etc. plus a power reserve to cope wìth today's mechanised fleld equipment.

Independent two-tpeed P. T. 0. The D 8006 has an independent two-speed P. T. 0. shaft as standard equipment, whic^ can be engaged and dlsengaged on-the-go and under Ioad. By just operating a levar from the seat, you have a choice of 540 or 1.000 r. p. m. Rated P. T. 0, is obtalned at 90 Vo of rated engine speed.
