would make us feel not wel-come at the games,” Pinker-ton said.
However, she said the cheerleaders ultimately de-cided to finish out the sea-son. But she asked wheth-er it would be right for the student section to harass the football or basketball teams and how that would be han-
dled if it were to happen.“I worked very hard to
build the program and it hurts to see this happen,” she said, before she announced that she will resign her po-sition.
Stimatze had previously spoken to the board about a number of concerns and said that, while several were ad-dressed, others had not. She noted what Danny McDor-man brought up at the Janu-
ary meeting about the condi-tion of the locker rooms and that they remained an issue.
Stimatze added that she has still not received official notification that she has been fired as KHS head volley-ball coach. She previously told the board she had been informed that she would not be retained, but that the po-sition has been posted on the website, despite the board not having taken action re-
garding a non-renewal of her contract.
Stimatze added that her assistant coaches were never asked if they were interest-ed in applying for the head coaching position.
The board didn’t respond to Stimatze’s questions and no action was taken re-garding the head volleyball coaching position in person-nel action at the end of the meeting.
