    Wet G as C om pressor Train

    The vapours or wet gases from the reactor are com-pressed by the Wet Gas Compressor (WGC) beforebeing transferred to the high-pressure condenser.Typically, the Wet Gas Compressor isa two-stage inter-cooled centrifugal compressor driven by an industrialsteam turbine.

    MAN Diesel & Turbo supplies the Wet Gas Compres-sor, an optimized machine for specific process con-ditions and fully compliant with NACE requirements,as well as the respective steam turbine driver. Bothmachines are designed according to the specificcustomer and process requirements, fully tested andassembled in the factory.

    In 2004, a sophisticated assembly and test centrefor large machine trains was commissioned includingoverhead cranes, cooling towers, steam supply linesand substantial electrical power supply system.
