LOCATION A ACCESS
The property ia located south of the aouth branch of the Onaman
River Juat north of the Taahota Gold Mines property. The claims may be reached by
anowaobile on a winter road 20 miles from Taahota, Ontario* or in aunner by
canoe 15 milea from the Onaman River bridge up the South Onaman River. The
land la generally flat and swampy, with good stands of spruce, balsam, jack-
pine, poplar and whit* birch,
GENERAL GEOLOGY

GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY
The geophysical survey was carried out in the fall of 1951, under
the supervision of Mr* S. L* Spafford, Readings with an Aakania magnetometer
were made at regular intervals on a systematic grid, (see appendix).
INTERPRETATION OF GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY
Magnetic readings range from a base level of about 400 gaomas
(referred to an arbitrary base-level) to 3,500 gammas. The trends of the
readings indicate a southwest-northeast strike.
The nore magnetic zones coloured in brown on the accompanying
map, are interpreted to be due to sill-like intrusives of gabbro, with some
peridotite in the centre of the largest body to the south* Minor iron
formation may be present.
All of the magnetic zones should be investigated in the field,
but the most interesting section is interpreted to lie along the southern
part of the claim group. Two diamond drill holes are reconu-.ended to test
the larger magnetic zone, one near its centre, and the other at the eastern
end where the intrusive may be displaced by a fault* TMs zone lies close
to the property boundary with Taehota Gold Mines Limited.
^*hile one of the objectives is to locate gold-bearing mineral
ization, the southern anomaly zone is recommended particularly for further
investigation, to test the base-metal possibilities.

under the supervision of Mr. S. L, Spafford. Readings with aa Askania

K OF GSQHiYSIGAL SURVEY
Irregular ruai'.iiotio readings were obtained in the northeastern
section of the property northeast of an interpreted fault (see accompanying
oap). The contrast exceeds 10,000 gamins (-6799 to +4075). An east-west
strike of the for:;.at;ion3 is 3Uf,j,c3ted in this zone and. the result* indicate
the presence of iron formation Tsith shallow overburden. In one section basic
intrusivos arc suc&ectud, and driili::;; of this zona is recommended to test
tho base netal pocsibilities. Before drilling, however, the anomalous sections
of the property should be geologically liiapped ana prospected.
A second drill hole is tentatively suggested to test the anomaly
in the southwestern part of the property. Tho anomaly is across foraational
strike in this section, and is probably duo to local basic intrusives.

KQUANDAH GOLD & METALS LIMITS
INTRODUCTION
The Lee Group Ho. 3 under option to Houandah Gold A: Metals Limited
is favourably located in the Onaman River Area, the scene of considerable
recent aining activity. The present report deals with a magnetometer survey
which was completed in Kay 1952. The group consists of 9 unpatented contiguous
c la ins numbered TB-41278 to 86 inclusive.
LOCATION Alii) ACCESS
The property is located in the nipigon Forest Reserve half a mile west
of the oast Reserve Line opposite mileage 53. It lies about 40 miles northwest
of CJeraldton. The property may be reached by pack trail frccu the South Onaman
River, which is accessible by canoe. A motor road from the trans-Canada high
way at Nezah is being completed. This will simplify the transportation problems
in the area*
GSi&KAL GEOLOGY
The consolidated rocks of the area are a typical early Precambrian
assemblage consisting of Kecwatin-type lavas and Timiskaming-type sodinents
intruded by G oeriea of granitic intrusives and basic intrusives of several
ti t.;oD. The volcanic rocks on tho property are highly sohisted and carbo:iatizod.
Several large porphyry.' dikes cut t\o lavas. Tho ^ouandah Mo. 3 Group lias closo

ECOMOMIO GEOLOGY
Deposits of gold, copper, zinc, lead, and silver are known in a
belt extending ton niloa from the Tashota-Nipigon on the northeast to the
Craibbo (Yfells find) on the southwest. The base netal deposits are largely of
the replacement type. In some oases they contain magnetite and pyrrhotite in
sufficient quantities to make the magnetic nothod effective in the location of
new oro bodies. At scrao of the deposits porphyry dikes appear to have controlled
the deposition of the metallic minerals*
GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY
The geophysical survey was carried out in May 1952 under the super
vision of S. L* Spafford. Headings of vertical magnetic intensity were taken
using an Askania-'type nafpietameter along north-south picket lines*
INTERPRETATION OF GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY
The effictivenesB of the magnetic method in locating mineral deposits
depends either on tho presence of magnetic rdnorals associated with the ore-
ninerals, or on the recognition of structures known to be favourable for ore-
deposition in a particular area. A number of anomalies have been located by the
magnetometer survey. One of these appears to be due to a wido porphyry dike.
Probably other anomalies can be assigned to the same cause* Tho interpretation
of the magnetic data is raade i.iore difficult by the general north-south trend of
the formations parallel to the traverse lines*
It is reccEsnendod that all magnetic anomalies on the property be
3.
examined, both Franz, the standpoint of association with magnetic minerals
and porphyry dikes* It should be possible to determine the causes of most
of the anomalies by stripping or shallow trenching.f
