Moreland Cup On Tuesday 23rd of July a group of our senior students participated in the Moreland Schools Cub Australian Rules Football Tournament which was hosted by the Coburg Lions VFL Football Club at Piranha Park.

St. Paul's fielded two teams, an all boys team and an all girls team. Our boys were played fantastically all day and looked to be the team to beat. However they encountered 2 very good opposition teams from St. Bernard's and Coburg North PS. Unfortunately our boys team did not make it to the final but we were treated to some fantastic football from all of our boys.

Our Girls Team did not lose a game all day and ran away in the final game against St. Bernard's PS with a com-prehensive win. Ella M, was a stand out performer as well as Natalia D and Rebekkah K.

Congratulations Girls, you were great.

ST PAUL’S NUDE FOOD

TUESDAY!

We have begun the process of separating our

waste! Each classroom now has two bins, one

for our food packaging and one for our food

scraps. We are working with Moreland Council to

get mini compost bins for every class to collect

our food scraps in, and these will be used in our

garden.

This week we continued our ‘Nude Food Tues-

day’ initiative to help support Plastic Free July.

Week 2 proved to be even more successful than

our first week!

All of the students were so excited to show off

their ‘nude’ lunches, and it was wonderful to see

that so many beeswax wraps being used!

AMAZING WORK!

After this week’s weigh in, we have a few

classrooms tied with less than 200gms of

food packaging in their bucket! Keep up the

great work!

Our mini compost bins were filled to the brim this week!

This Week’s St Paul’s Nude Food Warriors!

Check out some of our outstanding nude lunchboxes

Hi everyone

Firstly great job on our Nude Food Tuesdays! Everyone is working really hard to re-

duce how much rubbish our school sends to landfill. Keep up the good work!

This term we have two new sustainability initiatives – both around recycling! We're

collecting bread tags (the hard square plastic ones) and any old dental care such as

used toothbrushes and empty toothpaste tubes for recycling. Both programs will help

St Pauls, the environment and people who really need it! Find out more below…

The St Paul's Sustainability Committee

Q. Did you know you can't put bread tags in your home recycling bin?

Q. Did you know that we can collect them to send away to be specially recycled AND help fund wheelchairs in South Africa for people

who need them?

What to do:

1. Collect any bread tags at home and bring to school during Term 3

2. Put in the labelled box near the office and we'll take them to the collection point

3. They get recycled in Robe, South Australia and the money goes to South Africa to fund wheelchairs

for children and adults who need them

4. Give yourself a high five for being awesome!

More information here: https://www.breadtagsforwheelchairs.co.za/

Q. Did you know you can't put toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes in your home recycling bin either?!

Q. Did you know that we can collect them to be specially recycled AND win a recycled community garden set for our

school?

What to do:

1. Collect old toothbrushes, empty toothpaste and anything else in the picture above

2. Put in the labelled box near the office and we post them off to be recycled

3. Get online and VOTE for St Pauls to receive more Garden Points

4. Give yourself another high five for being awesome!

The more we recycle, the more Garden Points we get, the more chances to win! Also, every piece we send, we earn 2c to donate to a non-profit organisation to help folks out!

2. Colgate Community Garden Challenge

On behalf of Shaun and the P&F committee members, I would

like to thank the parents who generously volunteered their time

to the Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser to be held this Sunday. Your

help and support is greatly appreciated.

BBQ ROSTER

Please consider volunteering for future fundraising events as ultimately

it is YOUR child who benefits from all of the money raised.
