Welcome to our Church

1 Thessalonians 5:8: But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.

Rooted in the Living Word Empowered by the Holy Spirit Abiding in Christ only Daring to Hope and to Love Yielding Fruit To God’s Glory

Key Verse for Daniel 5: Daniel 5:22-24 (NLT)

22 “You are his successor, O Belshazzar, and you knew all this, yet you have not humbled yourself.

23 For you have proudly defied the LORD of heaven and have had these cups from his Temple brought before you. You and your

nobles and your wives and concubines have been drinking wine from them while praising gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood,

and stone—gods that neither see nor hear nor know anything at all. But you have not honored the God who gives you the breath of

life and controls your destiny!

24 So God has sent this hand to write this message.

Key Verse for Daniel 6: Daniel 6:10-12 (NLT)

10 But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its win-

dows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.

11 Then the officials went together to Daniel’s house and found him praying and asking for God’s help.

12 So they went straight to the king and reminded him about his law. “Did you not sign a law that for the next thirty days any person

who prays to anyone, divine or human—except to you, Your Majesty—will be thrown into the den of lions?” “Yes,” the king re-

plied, “that decision stands; it is an official law of the Medes and Persians that cannot be revoked.”

Considerate & Responsible Car Parking Please be considerate when parking your cars around the neighbor-hood so as to be a good testimony to our neighbors. Stay clear of all home entrances. No parking at double yellow or continuous white lines, fire hydrants & junctions.

As a commitment to responsible parking in our neighbor-hood, all Frankelites are encouraged to display the BFEC car decal. You may obtain the decal from the church of-fice. If you have changed cars, please update the church office with your new details.

Let’s Be Gracious and leave the accessible lots for those who truly need them. In addi-tion to the 1 handicapped lot, 3 lots have been set aside for those who are transporting the wheelchair-bound, very elderly, heavily preg-

nant women, or injured.

If you are double-parked and blocking other cars in the back carpark, please be considerate and leave your number on your dashboard so that you can be contacted if we need you to move your car.

We live in rapidly changing and challeng-ing times. New norms & rules have made it difficult to discern right from wrong. On the other hand, violence perpetrated in the name of extreme religion has become a normal pattern. It is a frightening world & a reminder that the end of the world is perhaps not

very far away. In such a perplexing time the lives of Daniel & his friends remind us that Christians are the bearers of a counter-cultural message & life-style. Do we dare to be a Daniel, & so bear testimony to the presence of another kingdom, one which will be ulti-mately victorious, God’s kingdom of light & love?

Baptism & Membership Class 101 (Baptism on 27 November) Baptism is more than a symbolic act or tradition. It has tremendous spiritual significance as a public testimony of one’s faith to our friends & loved ones. Jesus Himself chose to be baptised. We urge all Frankelites (aged 12 and above) who have yet to be baptised to sign up to get themselves ready. You will need to attend all 4 lessons, held over 4 Sundays (8.30am-10.00am). This will be followed by an interview with church leaders. Kindly note that no make-up lesson will be arranged. 16 Oct : Session 1 "Our Salvation" 23 Oct : Session 2 "Baptism & The Lord's Supper" 30 Oct : Session 3 "Our Church Statements” 6 Nov : Session 4 "Our Church Strategy & Structure" Application forms for Baptism/Membership Transfer can be obtained from the Church Office. IP Ministry Monsoon Relief Distribution, 23 - 27 Nov. During the Monsoon season, many parts of the East Coast may be flooded, leading to roads being inundated and/or washed out - leaving people stranded at home, away from their food sources - resulting in hunger and sickness, especially among the children. BFEC sponsors this annual event, where foodstuff is bought in bulk, packed and delivered to our IP brothers and sisters, who may not have the means to stock up before the floods. If you are interested to be a part of this work, please contact Patrick or Chih Yuan ([email protected])
