Positive speaking

In this ever changing world we life in there is not much that’s in our direct control anymore. This

might be a scary statement if it was true. Thank God that its not!

We have the power to create. And we have the same power that God has to create.

In Genesis God said “Light be and light was.” God created what was needed when he spoke.

When we speak we create. If we speak negative things we create negative things. If we need to

create positive things we need to speak positive things.

We have compiled a list of things to speak everyday. Just read them out loud daily

God bless

Confession

For truly I say to you that whoever shall say to this mountain, Be moved and be cast into the sea,

and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he said shall occur, he shall have

whatever he said. (Mar 11:23)

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17)

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it. (Pro

18:21)

Work

Do your own work well, and then you will have something to be proud of. But don't compare

yourself with others. (Gal 6:4)

Employees, you must obey your earthly employers. Show them great respect and be as loyal to

them as you are to Christ. Try to please them at all times, and not just when you think they are

watching. You are slaves of Christ, so with your whole heart you must do what God wants you to

do. Gladly serve your employer, as though they were the Lord himself, and not simply people. You

know that you will be rewarded for any good things you do, whether you are slaves or free.

(Eph 6:5-8)

Your reward depends on what you say and what you do; you will get what you deserve.

(Pro 12:14)

Work hard and do not be lazy. Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion.

(Rom 12:11)

Favour

My child, remember my teachings and instructions and obey them completely. They will help you

live a long and prosperous life. Let love and loyalty always show like a necklace, and write them in

your mind. God and people will like you and consider you a success.

(Pro 3:1-4)

Try hard to do right, and you will win friends; go looking for trouble, and you will find it.

(Pro 11:27)

If your goals are good, you will be respected, but if you are looking for trouble, that is what you

will get.

(Pro 11:27)

Family

And the Lord said to Noah, Take all your family and go into the ark, for you only in this generation

have I seen to be upright.

(Gen 7:1)

But as for me and my house, we will serve Jehovah.

(Jos 24:15)

The just walks in his integrity; his sons are blessed after him.

(Pro 20:7)

Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

(Pro 22:6)

Pray

Evening and morning, and at noon, I will pray and cry aloud; and He shall hear my voice.

(Psa 55:17)

Pray without ceasing.

(1Th 5:17)

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

(Jud 1:20)

Speech

It's stupid to say bad things about your neighbors. If you are sensible, you will keep quiet.

(Pro 11:12)

You will say the wrong thing if you talk too much-- so be sensible and watch what you say.

(Pro 10:19)

The more you talk, the more likely you are to sin. If you are wise, you will keep quiet.

(Pro 10:19)

I said, "I will be careful about what I do and will not let my tongue make me sin; I will not say

anything while evil people are near." I kept quiet, not saying a word, not even about anything good!

(Psa 39:1-2)

But now you must stop doing such things. You must quit being angry, hateful, and evil. You must

no longer say insulting or cruel things about others. And stop lying to each other. You have given

up your old way of life with its habits. Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more

and more like your Creator, and you will understand him better.

(Col 3:8-10)

Do as God does. After all, you are his dear children. Let love be your guide. Christ loved us and

offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God. You are God's people, so don't let it be said

that any of you are immoral or indecent or greedy. Don't use dirty or foolish or filthy words.

Instead, say how thankful you are.

(Eph 5:1-4)

Character

This is a statement that can be trusted: If anyone sets his heart on being a leader, he desires

something excellent. A leader must have a good reputation. He must have only one wife, be sober,

use good judgment, be respectable, be hospitable, and be able to teach. He must not drink

excessively or be a violent person, but he must be gentle. He must not be quarrelsome or love

money. He must manage his own family well. His children should respectfully obey him. (If a man

doesn't know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of a business?) He must not be a

new Christian, or he might become arrogant like the devil and be condemned. People who are not

Christians must speak well of him, or he might become the victim of disgraceful insults that the

devil sets as traps for him. Leaders must also be of good character. They must not be two-faced or

addicted to alcohol. They must not use shameful ways to make money. They must have clear

consciences about possessing the mystery of the Christian faith. First, a person must be evaluated.

Then, if he has a good reputation, he may become a leader.

(1Ti 3:1-10)

Run from temptations that capture young people. Always do the right thing. Be faithful, loving, and

easy to get along with. Worship with people whose hearts are pure. Stay away from stupid and

senseless arguments. These only lead to trouble, and God's servants must not be troublemakers.

They must be kind to everyone, and they must be good teachers and very patient. Be humble whenyou correct people who oppose you. Maybe God will lead them to turn to him and learn the truth.

(2Ti 2:22-25)

Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent. Selah Offer right

sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.

(Psa 4:4-5)

Healed

He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that dying to sins, we might live to

righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

(1Pe 2:24)

And rising up from the synagogue, He entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was

being seized with a great fever. And they asked Him for her. And standing over her, He rebuked the

fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and served them.

(Luk 4:38-39)

Sharp words cut like a sword, but words of wisdom heal.

(Pro 12:18)

Money Matters and daily needs

But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

(Php 4:19)

For Jehovah God is a sun and shield; Jehovah will give grace and glory; no good thing will He

withhold from those who walk uprightly.

(Psa 84:11)

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves another has fulfilled the Law.

(Rom 13:8)

And Jehovah shall prosper you in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle,

and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers to give you.

(Deu 28:11)

But you shall remember Jehovah your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, so that

He may confirm His covenant which He has sworn to your fathers, as it is today.

(Deu 8:18)

Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favor my righteous cause: Yea, let them say continually,

Jehovah be magnified, Who hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

(Psa 35:27)

Study the Bible

This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it by day and by

night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make

your way prosperous, and then you shall act wisely.

(Jos 1:8)

With what shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your Word. With all

my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your Commandments. I have hidden YourWord in my heart, so that I might not sin against You.

(Psa 119:9-11)

But his delight is only in the Law of Jehovah; and in His Law he meditates day and night.

And He said to them, Going into all the world, preach the gospel to all the creat ion. The one

believing and being baptized will be saved. And the one not believing will be condemned. And

miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: they will cast out demons in My name;

they will speak new languages; they will take up snakes; and if they drink anything deadly, it will

in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well. Then indeed, after

speaking to them, the Lord was taken up into Heaven, and sat off the right of God. And going out,

they preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word through themiraculous signs following after. Amen.

(Mar 16:15-20)

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

(Php 4:13)

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to

Me. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father

and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded

you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

(Mat 28:18-20)

Pure

You also say, "Food is meant for our bodies, and our bodies are meant for food." But I tell you that

God will destroy them both. We are not supposed to do indecent things with our bodies. We are to

use them for the Lord who is in charge of our bodies. God will raise us from death by the same

power that he used when he raised our Lord to life. Don't you know that your bodies are part of the

body of Christ? Is it right for me to join part of the body of Christ to a prostitute? No, it isn't! Don'tyou know that a man who does that becomes part of her body? The Scriptures say, "The two of

them will be like one person." But anyone who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit with him. Don't

be immoral in matters of sex. That is a sin against your own body in a way that no other sin is. You

surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift

from God. You are no longer your own. God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor

God.

(1Co 6:13-20)

For this is the will of God, your sanctification, for you to abstain from fornication, each one of youto know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honor (not in the passion of lust, even as the

nations who do not know God), not to go beyond and defraud his brother in this matter (because the

Lord is the avenger concerning all these, as we also have forewarned you and testified). For God

has not called us to uncleanness, but in sanctification.

(1Th 4:3-7)

Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and

pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God. Don't be like the people of this world, but let

God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing

to him.

Leading someone to Jesus

Week 11 (Session 1) – The great commission

Let’s again look at the 5 steps of faith. Since God can only be pleased by faith we must put these

steps of faith into practice daily. So from now on each lesson we will do a recap of what faith is andhow it works

So let’s look at the five steps of faith

In Bible foundations we will go into much detail of faith but just in a nutshell let’s look at the

 process of faith

What is faith?

Heb 11:1 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe

that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Faith definition = Believing and doing the word of God

The five steps of faith

1.  Hear it - Rom 10:17 EMTV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2.  Say it - 2Co 4:13 EMTV And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is

written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,

3.  Do it - Jas 2:17 EMTV Thus also that faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being by itself4.  Receive it - Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who

comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seekHim.

5.  Tell it - Gal 5:6 GNB For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision northe lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.

Mat 9:26-31 MKJV And this report went out into all that land. (27) And when Jesus passedon from there, two blind ones followed Him, crying and saying, Son of David, have mercy onus. (28) And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus saidto them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord. (29) Then Hetouched their eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be to you. (30) And their eyes were

opened. And Jesus strictly charged them, saying, See, let no one know. (31) But going out, they made Him known in all that land.

In this lesson we are going to look at what the great commission is.

Mar 16:15-20 MKJV And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all thecreation. (16) He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. (17) And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in Myname they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; (18) they will take up serpents;and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, andthey will be well. (19) Then indeed, after speaking to them, the Lord was taken up intoHeaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (20) And going out, they proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word by miraculous signs following. Amen.

Mat 28:18-20 MKJV And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All authority is given to Mein Heaven and in earth. (19) Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the nameof the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

From these verses we can brake down the last words of Jesus into two sections. Lead someone toJesus and then teach them the word of God.

In this second model of this bible school program we are going to look at leading someone to Jesus.

Pro 11:30 GW The fruit of a righteous person is a tree of life, and a winner of souls is wise.

Dan 12:3 GW Those who are wise will shine like the brightness on the horizon. Those who leadmany people to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever.

We can clearly see that God links wisdom directly to leading people to Jesus. You cannot step into

true success as a Christian unless you start making souls your highest priority.

Mat 4:19 GW Jesus said to them, "Come, follow me! I will teach you how to catch peopleinstead of fish."

Mar 1:17-18 GW Jesus said to them, "Come, follow me! I will teach you how to catch peopleinstead of fish." (18) They immediately left their nets and followed him.

From these verses we can see that a follower of Jesus is someone that will learn how to lead

someone to Jesus.

Eze 3:17-19 GW "Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the people of Israel. Listen to what I say, and warn them for me. (18) Suppose I tell you that wicked people will surely die,

but you don't warn them or speak out so that they can change their wicked ways in order tosave their lives. Then these wicked people will die because of their sin, but I will hold youresponsible for their deaths. (19) But suppose you warn the wicked people, and they don'tturn from their wicked ways. Then they will die because of their sin, but you will save yourself.

Rom 10:13-15 GW So then, "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (14) Buthow can people call on him if they have not believed in him? How can they believe in him ifthey have not heard his message? How can they hear if no one tells the Good News? (15) Howcan people tell the Good News if no one sends them? As Scripture says, "How beautiful are thefeet of the messengers who announce the Good News."

It is clear that we have a purpose to tell people about Jesus and the Gospel or Good News. In theweek 13 we are going to look in detail what the Gospel or Good News is. For now we mustunderstand two things very clearly. God has called us to tell people about Him and that it is not our

responsibility to force people into a relationship with God. We are merely called in life to tell people about Jesus.

Mat 9:36-38 MKJV But seeing the crowds, He was moved with compassion on them, becausethey were tired and scattered like sheep having no shepherd. (37) Then He said to Hisdisciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. (38) Therefore pray to theLord of the harvest that He will send out laborers into His harvest.

Page 21: 2 - Ready for Life Bible School Progam - Leading Someone to Jesus

We can clearly see from this account that Jesus wants us to pray that we go into the world and lead

people to Jesus. Our prayer should not be “God send people to our church.” It is our responsibility

to go and fetch them. Jesus says in this section that the world is ready for us and the Gospel.

From these verses we can clearly see that we have a responsibility to lead people to Jesus.

We said that the great commission and the last words of Jesus can be broke down into two sections.

Lead someone to Jesus and then teach them.

Once we have lead someone to Jesus and they give their hearts to Him we must know teach them

the word of God. Let’s look at some verse that confirms this.

Mat 7:24-29 MKJV Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will likenhim to a wise man who built his house on a rock. (25) And the rain came down, and the floodscame, and the winds blew and beat on that house. And it did not fall, for it was founded on arock. (26) And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them shall becompared to a foolish man who built his house on the sand. (27) And the rain came down,

and the floods came, and the wind blew and beat on that house. And it fell, and great was itsfall. (28) And it happened, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people wereastonished at His doctrine. (29) For He taught them as one having authority, and not as thescribes.

Just being a Christian and following Jesus is not going to help you when satan attack you. The only

thing that will help you stand strong in the attack is your knowledge and revelation of God’s wordand you obedience to it. When we lead someone to Jesus we must help the person to build on the

rock of Jesus.

1Co 11:2 MKJV But I praise you, brothers, that you remember me in all things, and you keep

the doctrines as I delivered them to you.

Mat 5:14-19 MKJV You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.(15) Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the grain-measure, but on a lampstand. And itgives light to all who are in the house. (16) Let your light so shine before men that they maysee your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven. (17) Do not think that I havecome to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to destroy but to fulfill. (18) Fortruly I say to you, Till the heaven and the earth pass away, not one jot or one tittle shall in any way pass from the Law until all is fulfilled. (19) Therefore whoever shall relax one of thesecommandments, the least, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdomof Heaven. But whoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdomof Heaven.

We can clearly see that we are called to be the light of this world. We must live a lifestyle of faith.

That is the “shall do” in Mat 5:19. But then it goes on and says we must teach people. Once we start

to let our light shine people will glorify God. When they except Jesus as their Lord they are now born again (John 3). Babies need lots of milk as they grow up.

1Co 3:1-2a CEV My friends, you are acting like the people of this world. That's why I could notspeak to you as spiritual people. You are like babies as far as your faith in Christ is concerned.(2) So I had to treat you like babies and feed you milk. You could not take solid food.

1Pe 2:2-3 GW Desire God's pure word as newborn babies desire milk. Then you will grow in

your salvation. (3) Certainly you have tasted that the Lord is good!

Page 22: 2 - Ready for Life Bible School Progam - Leading Someone to Jesus

We can clearly see that we have a responsibility to teach people the word of God

2Co 1:1-4 GW From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and from Timothy our brother. To God's church in the city of Corinth and to all God's holy people everywhere inGreece. (2) Good will and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ are yours!(3) Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the Father who is compassionateand the God who gives comfort. (4) He comforts us whenever we suffer. That is why wheneverother people suffer, we are able to comfort them by using the same comfort we have receivedfrom God.

In these verses they are talking about teaching other people how to operate in faith. This is thefive steps of faith. If you find financial deliverance by applying the five steps of faith you canteach them to anyone. It does not matter in what trouble they are in. If they apply the fivesteps of faith they will be victories. But they won’t know unless you teach them.

Psa 66:16 GW Come and listen, all who fear God, and I will tell you what He has done for me.

Heb 10:23-25 GNB Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God tokeep his promise. (24) Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love

and to do good. (25) Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing.Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord iscoming nearer.

So the great commission is to lead people to Jesus and to teach (disciple) them

So how do we lead someone to Jesus

Rom 1:16 MKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto

salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

From this we see that the gospel is the power to salvation. In two session from now we will look atwhat exactly the gospel is.

Leading someone to Jesus

Week 12 (Session 2) – The ministry of Jesus

3.  Do it - Jas 2:17 EMTV Thus also that faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being by itself4.  Receive it - Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who

They said to Him, Yes, Lord. they made Him known in all that land.

Let’s look at the ministry of Jesus

Luk 19:1-10 MKJV And going in, He passed through Jericho. (2) And behold, there was a man named

Zaccheus, who was a chief tax-collector. And he was rich. (3) And he sought to see Jesus, to see who

He was. And he could not because of the press, because he was little in stature. (4) And he ran in front

and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him. For He was to pass through that way. (5) And when

Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him. And He said to him, Zaccheus! Hurry and come

down, for today I must stay at your house. (6) And hurrying he came down, and received Him joyfully.

(7) And seeing, they all murmured, saying, He has gone in to stay with a sinful man. (8) And

Zaccheus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor. And in anythingI accused anyone falsely, I restore it fourfold. (9) And Jesus said to him, This day salvation has come

Page 25: 2 - Ready for Life Bible School Progam - Leading Someone to Jesus

to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham. (10) For the Son of Man has come to seek and to

save that which was lost.

From these verses we can clearly see that Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

Luk 5:27-31 MKJV And after these things He went out and saw a tax-collector named Levi, sitting at the tax-office. And He said to him, Follow Me. (28) And leaving all, he rose up and

followed Him. (29) And Levi made a great feast in his own house for Him. And there was agreat company of tax-collectors and of others who were reclining with them. (30) But theirscribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying, Why do you eat and drink withtax-collectors and sinners? (31) And Jesus answered and said to them, Those who are sounddo not need a physician, but those who are sick.

Jesus compared His own ministry to that of a doctor coming for sick people

Mat 1:21 MKJV And she shall bear a son, and you shall call His name JESUS: for He shall saveHis people from their sins.

From all these verses we can clearly see that Jesus is here to help us and not to condemn. He

was send by God to planet earth so that we can be saved from our sins and everlasting death inhell.

So how did God bring this salvation to pass through His Son Jesus Christ.

We have already studied in Christian Basic under salvation that when Adam sinned, sin anddeath entered the world.

Rom 6:23 MKJV For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through JesusChrist our Lord.

When Adam sinned, death came into the word. But then God send Jesus to die on the cross inour place.

Gen 3:10-15 MKJV And he said, I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because Iam naked, and I hid myself. (11) And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have youeaten of the tree which I commanded you that you should not eat? (12) And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate. (13) And JehovahGod said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpentdeceived me, and I ate. (14) And Jehovah God said to the serpent, Because you have done this you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every animal of the field. You shall go upon your belly, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. (15) And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He will bruise your head, and youshall bruise His heel.

The first thing that Jesus ever said to devil after he tempted Adam was that Jesus (Seed) will bruise your head.

1Jn 3:8 GW The person who lives a sinful life belongs to the devil, because the devil has beencommitting sin since the beginning. The reason that the Son of God appeared was to destroy what the devil does.

The main reason that Jesus came to earth was to destroy what the devil was busy doing.

Col 2:13-15 GW You were once dead because of your failures and your uncircumcised corruptnature. But God made you alive with Christ when he forgave all our failures. (14) He did this

Page 26: 2 - Ready for Life Bible School Progam - Leading Someone to Jesus

by erasing the charges that were brought against us by the written laws God had established. He took the charges away by nailing them to the cross. (15) He stripped the rulers andauthorities (satan and his demons) of their power and made a public spectacle of them as hecelebrated his victory in Christ.

When Jesus died on the cross our sins was complete forgiven and forgotten. But Jesus alsostripped satan and his demons of all their power.

1Co 2:8 CEV The rulers of this world didn't know anything about this wisdom. If they hadknown about it, they would not have nailed the glorious Lord to a cross.

We can clearly see that satan did not know what he was doing when he crucified Jesus. Whenhe crucified Jesus – Jesus died for our sins and stripped satan’s powers.

Joh 10:9-11 MKJV I am the door. If anyone enters in by Me, he shall be saved and shall go inand out and find pasture. (10) The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and todestroy. I have come so that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.(11) I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.

Satan’s power allowed him to steal, kill and destroy. Jesus died and stripped these powersfrom satan. Now we all are stilled attacked by satan on a day to day basis. But we have the toolsto fight him.

Isa 54:14-17 GW You will be established in righteousness. You will be far from oppression, so you will not be afraid. You will be far from destruction, so it won't come near you. (15) "Ifanyone attacks you, it will not be my doing. Whoever attacks you will be defeated by you. (16)I've created blacksmiths to fan the coals into flames and to produce useful weapons. I've alsocreated destroyers to bring destruction. (17) No weapon that has been made to be usedagainst you will succeed. You will have an answer for anyone who accuses you. This is theinheritance of the LORD'S servants. Their victory comes from me," declares the LORD.

From this we can clearly see that no weapon that satan forms again us will prosper as long as we life by faith.

Luk 4:14-21 CEV Jesus returned to Galilee with the power of the Spirit. News about himspread everywhere. (15) He taught in the Jewish meeting places, and everyone praised him.(16) Jesus went back to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and as usual he went to themeeting place on the Sabbath. When he stood up to read from the Scriptures, (17) he wasgiven the book of Isaiah the prophet. He opened it and read, (18) "The Lord's Spirit has cometo me, because he has chosen me to tell the good news to the poor. The Lord has sent me toannounce freedom for prisoners, to give sight to the blind, to free everyone who suffers, (19)and to say, 'This is the year the Lord has chosen.' " (20) Jesus closed the book, then handed it

back to the man in charge and sat down. Everyone in the meeting place looked straight atJesus. (21) Then Jesus said to them, "What you have just heard me read has come truetoday."

Luk 4:14-20 GW Jesus returned to Galilee. The power of the Spirit was with him, and thenews about him spread throughout the surrounding country. (15) He taught in thesynagogues, and everyone praised him. (16) Then Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up. As usual he went into the synagogue on the day of worship. He stood up to readthe lesson. (17) The attendant gave him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened it andfound the place where it read: (18) "The Spirit of the Lord is with me. He has anointed me totell the Good News to the poor. He has sent me to announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin

and the restoring of sight to the blind, to forgive those who have been shattered by sin, (19) to

announce the year of the Lord's favor." (20) Jesus closed the book, gave it back to theattendant, and sat down. Everyone in the synagogue watched him closely.

The good news to the poor is:

1.  Freedom for prisoners / Announce forgiveness to the prisoners of sin2.  Sight to the blind / Restoring of sight to the blind3.  Freedom from those who suffer / Forgive those who have been shattered by sin4.  The year of the Lord (debt free) / Announce the year of the Lord's favour (debt free) – Lev

25:10

Rom 5:1 MKJV Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our LordJesus Christ.

1Pe 2:24 MKJV He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that dying to sins, wemight live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.

2Co 8:9 MKJV For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, for your sakes He became poor, in order that you might be made rich through His poverty.

From these verses we see that if we are born again and excepted Jesus as our Lord there aresome promises that God promises to us. There is peace, healing and riches. But why are somany Christians still struggling.

Jesus also has a ministry as the Word

Joh 1:1-14 ISV In the beginning, the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word wasGod. (2) He existed in the beginning with God. (3) Through him all things were made, and apart

from him nothing was made that has been made. (4) In him was life, and that life brought light to

humanity. (5) And the light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out. (6)

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. (7) He came as a witness to testify aboutthe light, so that all might believe through him. (8) He was not the light, but he came to testify

about the light. (9) This was the true light that enlightens every person by his coming into the

world. (10) He was in the world, and the world was made through him. Yet the world did not

recognize him. (11) He came to his own creation, yet his own people did not receive him. (12)However, to all who received him, to those believing in his name, he gave authority to become

God's children, (13) who were born, not merely in a physical sense, or from a fleshly impulse, orfrom man's desire, but of God. (14) The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. We gazed

on his glory, the kind of glory that belongs to the Father's unique Son, full of grace and truth.

From these verses we can clearly see that Jesus Himself is the word that we call the bible. If you

want to know what Jesus has to say to you, you can just read the bible out loud.

Pro 18:10 GW The name of the LORD is a strong tower. A righteous person runs to it and is safe.

Rev 19:1-13 MKJV And after these things I heard a great sound of a numerous crowd in Heaven,

saying, Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and honor and the power to the Lord our God! (2) For trueand righteous are His judgments. For He has judged the great harlot who defiled the earth with her

fornication, and He has avenged the blood of His servants out of her hand. (3) And secondly they

said, Hallelujah! And her smoke rose up forever and ever. (4) And the twenty-four elders and the

four living creatures fell down and worshiped God sitting on the throne, saying, Amen! Hallelujah!

(5) And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all His servants, and the ones

fearing Him, the small and great. (6) And I heard as the sound of a great multitude, and as the

sound of many waters, and as the sound of strong thunders, saying, Hallelujah! For the Lord God

omnipotent reigns! (7) Let us be glad and rejoice and we will give glory to Him. For the marriage

of the Lamb has come, and His wife has prepared herself. (8) And to her was granted that she

should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white. For the fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.

(9) And he said to me, Write, Blessed are those who have been called to the marriage supper of theLamb. And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God. (10) And I fell at his feet to worship

him. And he said to me, See, do not do it! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who havethe testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (11) And

I saw Heaven opened. And behold, a white horse! And He sitting on him was called Faithful andTrue. And in righteousness He judges and makes war. (12) And His eyes were like a flame of fire,

and on His head many crowns. And He had a name written, one that no one knew except Himself.

(13) And He had been clothed in a garment dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of

God.

From these verses we can see that in the name of the Lord is safety, provision, protection and the blessing. There are many names of the Lord if you study out the Greek and Hebrew. In Revelations

one of the names of the Lord is the The Word of God. This is the ultimate name of Jesus. So ifJesus is the Word and His name is the Word it makes sense that I should study the bible.

So let’s summaries.

1.  Jesus died on the cross to save the sinner2.  That gave us eternal life since our transgression is wiped out3.  The death on the cross stripped satan from all his powers4.   We can come to Jesus even if we are spiritually sick. We don’t have to have everything

together to come to Jesus5.   When we study the bible, believe it and do it we will access the promises of God

The ministry of Jesus

1.

To seek and save the lost2.  To destroy the works of satan3.  To give us life and life abundantly4.  To manifest the Word

2.  The blessing is not the “stuff” like cars or healing. It’s the empowerment or ability to prosper.

Luk 4:38-39 MKJV And rising up from the synagogue, He entered into Simon's house. And

Simon's wife's mother was being seized with a great fever. And they asked Him for her. (39) Andstanding over her, He rebuked the fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and served

them.

Jesus in the verse rebuked the fever because He was blessed. He had authority and dominion overthe works of satan based on the blessing that God spoke in Gen 1:28-31

So how do we step into this blessing

1.  We the first thing is that we have to be born again

Gal 3:26 MKJV For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

2.  Secondly we must start living according to the bible

Deu 11:26-28 MKJV Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: (27) A blessing ifyou obey the commandments of Jehovah your God which I command you today, (28) and a

curse if you will not obey the commandments of Jehovah your God, but will turn aside out of

the way which I command you today, to go after other gods which you have not known.

3.  Be active for God and be active in your local church

Mal 3:10-12 MKJV Bring all the tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in Myhouse. And test Me now with this, says Jehovah of Hosts, to see if I will not open the windows

of Heaven for you, and pour out a blessing for you, until there is not enough room. (11) And I

will rebuke your devourer, and he shall not decay the fruit of your ground against you; nor shall

your vine miscarry against you in the field, says Jehovah of Hosts. (12) And all nations shallcall you blessed; for you shall be a delightful land, says Jehovah of Hosts.

Joh 4:34 MKJV Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to

finish His work.

So let’s summaries

Rom 1:16 MKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto

salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

When we teach people about the gospel they will have the opportunity to be saved

Gal 3:8 CEV Long ago the Scriptures said that God would accept the Gentiles because of their

faith. That's why God told Abraham the (gospel) good news that all nations would be blessed because of him.

The gospel is that we are blessed to be a blessing

Pro 10:22 MKJV The blessing of Jehovah itself makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

The blessing makes us rich in every area of our lives.

Leading someone to Jesus

Week 14(Session 4) – Am I saved?

Let’s again look at the 6 steps of faith. Since God can only be pleased by faith we must put these

steps of faith into practice daily. So from now on each lesson we will do a recap of what faith is andhow it works

So let’s look at the six steps of faith

In Bible foundations we will go into much detail of faith but just in a nutshell let’s look at the

 process of faith

What is faith?

Heb 11:1 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must

believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Faith definition = Believing and doing the word of God

The six steps of faith

1.  Hear it - Rom 10:17 EMTV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

2.  Say it - 2Co 4:13 EMTV And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which iswritten, "I believed, and therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,

3.  Do it - Jas 2:17 EMTV Thus also that faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being by itself

4.  Receive it - Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who

comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seekHim.

5.  Tell it - Gal 5:6 GNB For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the

lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.

6.  Pray in the Spirit – Jud 1:20 MKJV But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your mostholy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. 1Co 14:4a MKJV The one speaking in a tongue buildshimself up

Mat 9:26-31 MKJV And this report went out into all that land. (27) And when Jesus passed on

from there, two blind ones followed Him, crying and saying, Son of David, have mercy on us. (28)And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, Do

you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord. (29) Then He touched their

eyes, saying, According to your faith let it be to you. (30) And their eyes were opened. And Jesus

strictly charged them, saying, See, let no one know. (31) But going out, they made Him known in

all that land.

Pray in Tongues

This message is a recap of the messages in week one under Christian Basics – Salvation

It’s important when we speak and teach people what the Gospel is that we must know how to get

them from unsaved to save. If you tell someone how awesome Jesus is and they want to give their

Page 37: 2 - Ready for Life Bible School Progam - Leading Someone to Jesus

heart to Jesus, what must they do and how do you help them in that process. In this message we are

going to look at that.

Rom 5:10-21 CEV Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us, because his Sondied for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God,

we will be saved by his Son's life. (11) And in addition to everything else, we are happy becauseGod sent our Lord Jesus Christ to make peace with us. (12) Adam sinned, and that sin brought

death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and so everyone must die. (13) Sin was in theworld before the Law came. But no record of sin was kept, because there was no Law. (14) Yet

death still had power over all who lived from the time of Adam to the time of Moses. This

happened, though not everyone disobeyed a direct command from God, as Adam did. In some ways

Adam is like Christ who came later. (15) But the gift that God was kind enough to give was very

different from Adam's sin. That one sin brought death to many others. Yet in an even greater way,

Jesus Christ alone brought God's gift of kindness to many people. (16) There is a lot of difference between Adam's sin and God's gift. That one sin led to punishment. But God's gift made it possible

for us to be acceptable to him, even though we have sinned many times. (17) Death ruled like aking because Adam had sinned. But that cannot compare with what Jesus Christ has done. God has

been so kind to us, and he has accepted us because of Jesus. And so we will live and rule like kings.

(18) Everyone was going to be punished because Adam sinned. But because of the good thing thatChrist has done, God accepts us and gives us the gift of life. (19) Adam disobeyed God and caused

many others to be sinners. But Jesus obeyed him and will make many people acceptable to God.

(20) The Law came, so that the full power of sin could be seen. Yet where sin was powerful, God's

kindness was even more powerful. (21) Sin ruled by means of death. But God's kindness now

rules, and God has accepted us because of Jesus Christ our Lord. This means that we will haveeternal life.

From these verses we can see that when Adam sinned in Genesis 1-3 that sinned entered into the

world and that we all where born into a sinful state. As humans we can all admit that at once stage

and many other moments we have sinned and we will sin in the future as well.

So if we will sin in the future and have sinned in the past how can we then be saved? Well from theabove verses we see that the word “gift” appears many times. Salvation is a free gift from God

though His Son Jesus Christ.

Joh 3:16 MKJV For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Rom 5:8 GW Christ died for us while we were still sinners. This demonstrates God's love for us.

From these verses we can clearly see that Jesus died for us while we were sinners and our believe in

Jesus secure our eternal salvation

Isa 64:6 ESV We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a

polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Our good works can never ever get us into heaven and in right standing with God. It’s like saying

that a serial killers must not get jail time because he helped old people crossing the street.

Rom 10:9-13 GNB If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death,

you will be saved. (10) For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession

that we are saved. (11) The scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed."

(12) This includes everyone, because there is no difference between Jews and Gentiles; God is the

Page 38: 2 - Ready for Life Bible School Progam - Leading Someone to Jesus

same Lord of all and richly blesses all who call to him. (13) As the scripture says, "Everyone who

calls out to the Lord for help will be saved."

From these verses we can see that if we accept Jesus as our Lord and confess it with our mouths wewill be saved. The first step to receiving any gift is simply to believe that the gift is yours. If

someone gives you a brand new motor car you must believe that it’s yours. Once you believe it youcan take ownership of it. It’s the same with salvation. Believing in Jesus and confessing Him as

Lord is taking ownership of the salvation that’s a free gift.

Col 2:13-15 CEV You were dead, because you were sinful and were not God's people. But God let

Christ make you alive, when he forgave all our sins. (14) God wiped out the charges that were

against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. (15)

There Christ defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see them being led away as

prisoners when he celebrated his victory.

Isa 44:22 Darby I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins:return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

When Jesus died in the cross He took away all our sin and nailed it unto the cross. We can clearlysee from these verses that God wants to have an intimate relationship with us. He has forgiven us

from all our sins.

1Jn 1:9 MKJV If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse

us from all unrighteousness.

Jesus also tells us that if we sin in the future He will even forgive us for that sin if we confess it. Sosin is not what keeps us out of heaven. The only thing that will keep someone out of heaven is if he

rejects the free gift that God has given us for salvation.

1Pe 1:18-23 BBE Being conscious that you have been made free from that foolish way of lifewhich was your heritage from your fathers, not through a payment of things like silver or gold

which come to destruction, (19) But through holy blood, like that of a clean and unmarked lamb,

even the blood of Christ: (20) Who was marked out by God before the making of the world, but

was caused to be seen in these last times for you, (21) Who through him have faith in God whotook him up again from the dead into glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God. (22) And

as you have made your souls clean, being ruled by what is true, and loving one another withoutdeceit, see that your love is warm and from the heart: (23) Because you have had a new birth, not

from the seed of man, but from eternal seed, through the word of a living and unchanging God.

The moment that Adam fell and sin in Genesis 1 – 3 we all entered into a sinful state. We all have

sinned at one time and will do so in the future. Our sins meant that we were destined for hell.

Through the old testament God’s people had to kill animals “so that they won’t go to hell.” But this

never lasted and they had to kill animals over and over. But then Jesus died and His blood is

perfect. His sacrifice is perfect and if you only except Him as your Lord and confess it with yourmouth His blood that was shed is all you need for salvation.

Joh 17:3 MKJV And this is life eternal, that they might know You, the only true God, and Jesus

Christ whom You have sent.

Once we confess Jesus as our Lord we must grow into the eternal life. And the only way to do that

is to know Jesus. We will go to heaven if we except the free gift that God gives us but there is somuch more to salvation then just going to heaven

Joh 1:1-2 MKJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was

God. (2) He was in the beginning with God.

From John 1 we know that Jesus is the word made flesh. If you want to know Jesus you must know

His word. The more you study His word the more you step into eternal life and grow as a Christian.

Rom 6:22-23 MKJV But now, being made free from sin, and having become slaves to God, youhave your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life. (23) For the wages of sin is death, but the

gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

As we take hold of God’s word and mediate in it day and night we will produce fruits of holiness

and living the life that God want us to life. You don’t have to work at the fruit of holiness. You

only have to grow by spending time with God every day.

Rom 4:5 MKJV But to him not working, but believing on Him justifying the ungodly, his faith iscounted for righteousness.

Let’s have a look at the difference between holiness and righteousness

1Pe 1:16 MKJV because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

Holiness is a process and righteousness is something we become the moment we except Jesus as

Lord. Righteousness literally means to be in right standing with God. Holiness is a fruit of youintimacy with God and His word

The way that I always explain it is as follows. Imagine and old and beaten up car. That’s you. But

then one day you gave your life to Jesus. And in that moment that old and beaten up car got

changed into the smartest and most expensive car that you can think of. That is the righteousness of

God. It’s something you become as a Christian and will always be. Sin is like mud on the car. Themore you sin the dirtier this smart and expensive car gets. If you keep putting more and more mud

unto the car you will eventually only see that shape of the car but not really the car. The car is still

the same but now full of mud. Holiness is a fruit of spending time with God. As you spend more

and more time with God you will end up sinning less and less and less. Your car will not get dirtythat quickly. And if you do sin and get dirt on your car just confess it and God will forgive you and

wash your car. So the car never changes. Your righteousness never changes. But holiness canchanges and it depends on your intimacy with God.

Joh 10:27-30 MKJV My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (28) And I

give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of

My hand. (29) My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck

them out of My Father's hand. (30) I and the Father are one!

From these verses we can clearly see that as long as we keep listening to God’s voices, that is theBible, no one can pluck us from God’s hand. As long as we develop a relationship with God we

cannot back slide.

Joh 3:16 EMTV For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever

believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

As long as we believe that Jesus is Lord and confess it and spend time with God in His word wewill have eternal life with Him.

Leading someone to Jesus

Week 15 (Session 5) – Leading people to Jesus

Let’s again look at the 6 steps of faith. Since God can only be pleased by faith we must put thesesteps of faith into practice daily. So from now on each lesson we will do a recap of what faith is and

how it works

So let’s look at the six steps of faith

In Bible foundations we will go into much detail of faith but just in a nutshell let’s look at the

 process of faith

What is faith?

Heb 11:1 KJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Faith definition = Believing and doing the word of God

The six steps of faith

1.  Hear it - Rom 10:17 EMTV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.2.  Say it - 2Co 4:13 EMTV And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is

written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,

3.  Do it - Jas 2:17 EMTV Thus also that faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being by itself

4.  Receive it - Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he whocomes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek

Him.

5.  Tell it - Gal 5:6 GNB For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the

lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.6.  Pray in the Spirit – Jud 1:20 MKJV But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most

holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. 1Co 14:4a MKJV The one speaking in a tongue buildshimself up

Mat 9:26-31 MKJV And this report went out into all that land. (27) And when Jesus passed onfrom there, two blind ones followed Him, crying and saying, Son of David, have mercy on us. (28)

And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him.

Let’s do a recap of what the gospel is

Rom 1:16 MKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God untosalvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Then we teach people about the gospel they will have the opportunity to be saved

Gal 3:8 CEV Long ago the Scriptures said that God would accept the Gentiles because of theirfaith. That's why God told Abraham the (gospel) good news that all nations would be blessed

 because of him.

The gospel is that we are blessed to be a blessing

Pro 10:22 MKJV The blessing of Jehovah itself makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

The blessing makes us rich in every area of our lives.

A practical definition of the blessing: The blessing is the empowerment or ability to prosper inevery area of your life

So the first thing that we must understand when we lead people to Jesus is to tell people about a

better live in Christ Jesus. Telling people they are going to hell if they don’t accept Jesus as Lord, is

not the message of salvation. In Romans 1:16 it is very clear that the gospel or good news is whatwe need to preach.

Mat 5:11-16 MKJV Blessed are you when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all

kinds of evil against you falsely, for My sake. (12) Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for your

reward in Heaven is great. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (13) You arethe salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good

for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by men. (14) You are the light ofthe world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. (15) Nor do men light a lamp and put it

under the grain-measure, but on a lampstand. And it gives light to all who are in the house. (16)

Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who

is in Heaven.

A couple of points that we can gather from these verses are

1.  We are salt and light. When we choose to make a difference in this world we have the tools todo so

2.  When we let our light shine and we walk by faith (good works) people will glorify God3.  We must understand that while we are here on planet earth we are working for our eternal

rewards. We must become heavenly minded and then only will heaven back us up

4.  When we start letting our light shine we can expect reviling and persecution but it is because we

are reflecting God to other people

5.  If we are not flavouring the lives of other people we will end up backsliding from God. An

active Christian is a Christian that is growing in his relationship with God

Joh 3:16 MKJV For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

If we look at all the different religions, Christianity is the only one that offers a salvation through

someone that died in our place. The salvation is available for everyone that believes and confesses

Jesus as Lord. It is a free gift to everyone. All other relations you have do works and works to earn

your salvation.

So let’s look at John 3:16 in a practical way

You can memorise this and explain this to anyone. Leading someone to Jesus is that easy. Don’t

use fancy words and phrases like “everlasting life”, “are you saved”, “are you born again” and soon. Just let your light shine.

2Co 1:1-6 MKJV Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia. (2) Grace beunto you, and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. (3) Blessed be God,even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, (4)He comforting us in all our trouble, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in everytrouble, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (5) For as the

sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds by Christ. (6) And if we aretroubled, it is for your consolation and salvation, being worked out in the endurance of thesame sufferings which we also suffer; if we are comforted, it is for your consolation andsalvation.

Whenever we see someone that has a problem of any kind we can help the person.

troubled, it is for your consolation and salvation, being worked out in the endurance of thesame sufferings which we also suffer; if we are comforted, it is for your consolation andsalvation.

In this Paul says that if we have gone through any attach of the satan and came through victorious, we can help anyone that is in any kind of trouble. As you applied faith to getthrough the problem you can teach someone how to get through their problem. That is why the6 steps of faith is so important and why we need to live by faith. The word of God is the answerto all problems

Act 14:7-10 MKJV And there they were preaching the gospel. (8) And a certain man wassitting in Lystra, without strength in the feet, being lame from his mother's womb, who neverhad walked. (9) This one heard Paul speaking; and Paul, looking intently at him, and seeingthat he had faith to be healed, (10) said with a loud voice, Stand up on your feet! And heleaped and walked.

When we speak to someone about their problem and say to them that the bible has the answerand you quote the bible verse, faith rises in the person. Since faith comes by hearing andhearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).

Act 3:1-6 MKJV And on the same day Peter and John went up into the temple at the hour ofprayer, the ninth hour. (2) And a certain man, who was lame from his mother's womb, was being carried. And they laid him daily at that temple gate which is called Beautiful, to ask almsfrom those who entered into the temple. (3) Seeing Peter and John about to go into thetemple, he asked to receive alms. (4) And fastening his eyes on him, Peter with John said,Look on us! (5) And he paid heed to them, expecting to receive something from them. (6)But Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give you. In the name of JesusChrist of Nazareth, rise up and walk!

Act 8:27-37 MKJV And he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great

authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure and hadcome to Jerusalem to worship, (28) was returning. And sitting in his chariot he read Isaiahthe prophet. (29) Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join yourself to this chariot. (30) And Philip ran there to him and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Do you indeedunderstand what you are reading? (31) And he said, How can I unless some man should guideme? And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. (32) And the content of the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb beforehis shearer, so He opened not His mouth. (33) In His humiliation His judgment was takenaway, and who shall declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth." (34) Andthe eunuch answered Philip and said, I beg you, of whom does the prophet speak this? Ofhimself or of some other man? (35) Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the sameScripture and preached the gospel of Jesus to him. (36) And as they passed along the way,

they came on some water. And the eunuch said, See, here is water, what hinders me from being baptized? (37) Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, it is lawful. And heanswered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

From this we can clearly see that the easiest way to lead someone to Jesus is simply to look for where a person is struggling and find the verses that deal with it and teach them about thegospel. And if you live a lifestyle of faith and have spent time with God and reading your bible,it will be easy for you to give them the bible verses on the problem that they are facing.

Rom 10:8-9 MKJV But what does it say? "The Word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart"; that is, the Word of Faith which we proclaim; (9) Because if you confess the Lord

Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.

So when the person is ready you can just lead him in a prayer where they confess Jesus asLord.

So what are the things that you can do every day to prepare your heart for winning souls?

1.  Spend time with God everyday

Act 4:13 MKJV But seeing the boldness of Peter and John, and perceiving that they were unlearned and uneducated men, they marveled. And they recognized them, thatthey had been with Jesus.

2.  Pray for boldness everyday

Act 4:31 MKJV And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled wasshaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

3.  Know that not everyone will believe and might reject your message

Act 4:31 MKJV And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled wasshaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

4.  Live a lifestyle of faith

Mat 5:16 MKJV Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good worksand glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

Php 2:13-18 BBE For it is God who is the cause of your desires and of your acts, for his goodpleasure. (14) Do all things without protests and arguments; (15) So that you may be holy

and gentle, children of God without sin in a twisted and foolish generation, among whom youare seen as lights in the world, (16) Offering the word of life; so that I may have glory in you inthe day of Christ, because my running was not for nothing and my work was not without effect.(17) And even if I am offered like a drink offering, giving myself for the cause and work of yourfaith, I am glad and have joy with you all: (18) And in the same way do you be glad and have apart in my joy.

The easiest way to lead someone to Jesus is to just grow in your relationship with God and toallow Him to open doors for you where you can tell people about the goodness that is in ChristJesus.

Leading someone to Jesus

Week 16 (Session 6) - Healings and miracles

Practical. Discuss the following for 20 minutes:

Mat 9:26-31 MKJV And this report went out into all that land. (27) And when Jesus passed on

from there, two blind ones followed Him, crying and saying, Son of David, have mercy on us. (28)

And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, Do

strictly charged them, saying, See, let no one know. (31) But going out, they made Him known in

all that land.

Pray in Tongues

Let’s do a recap of what the gospel is

Rom 1:16 MKJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto

salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

When we teach people about the gospel they will have the opportunity to be saved

A practical definition of the blessing:

The blessing is the empowerment or ability to prosper in every area of your life

So the first thing that we must understand when we lead people to Jesus is to tell people about a

better live in Christ Jesus. Telling people they are going to hell if they don’t accept Jesus as Lord, is

not the message of salvation. In Romans 1:16 it is very clear that the gospel or good news is what

we need to preach.

Let’s look at the blessing in action.

Mat 14:14-21 MKJV And Jesus went out and saw a great crowd, and He was moved withcompassion toward them. And He healed their sick. (15) And evening coming on, Hisdisciples came to Him, saying, The place is deserted and the time has already gone by. Send

the crowd away so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves. (16) ButJesus said to them, They do not need to leave, you give them something to eat. (17) And theysaid to Him, We have here only five loaves and two fish. (18) And He said, Bring them here toMe. (19) And He commanded the crowd to recline on the grass. And He took the five loavesand the two fish, and looking up to Heaven He blessed and broke, and gave the loaves to Hisdisciples. And the disciples gave to the crowd. (20) And they all ate and were filled. And theytook up twelve hand baskets full from the fragments that remained. (21) And they who hadeaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

-   Whatever we have is enough to be used by God-  The blessing will always increase what we have and can do

The blessing will work once we start looking to others first-   We are here to represent Jesus to the world-  People don’t have to “leave you”. You can minister to them

Mat 4:23-25 MKJV And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues andpreaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseaseamong the people. (24) And His fame went throughout all Syria. And they brought to Him allthose being badly ill suffering various diseases and torments, and those who had beenpossessed with demons, and those who had been moonstruck, and paralytics. And He healedthem. (25) And great multitudes of people followed Him, from Galilee and Decapolis andJerusalem and Judea and beyond Jordan.

Jesus was teaching and when He taught people, faith came, and then miracles started tohappen.

So do we have the same power that Jesus had to heal people and perform miracles in Jesusname?

Joh 14:12 MKJV Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes on Me (The word of God), the works that I do he shall do also, and greater works than these he shall do, because I go to MyFather.

Jesus says as we develop our faith we will be able to do what He did and greater

Mar 16:16-20 MKJV He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. (17) And miraculous signs will follow to those believing thesethings: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues; (18) they will takeup serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands onthe sick, and they will be well. (19) Then indeed, after speaking to them, the Lord was takenup into Heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (20) And going out, they proclaimedeverywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word by miraculous signs

following. Amen.

As we proclaim the word of God, God will confirm His word by signs, wonders and miracles. When we teach someone on healing, healings will manifest. Our role is to be available as a vessel to be used by God.

So let’s look in the books of Acts how people allowed God to use them for miracles andhealings. Let’s look at seven examples

One

Act 3:2-9 MKJV And a certain man, who was lame from his mother's womb, was beingcarried. And they laid him daily at that temple gate which is called Beautiful, to ask alms fromthose who entered into the temple. (3) Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, heasked to receive alms. (4) And fastening his eyes on him, Peter with John said, Look on us!(5) And he paid heed to them, expecting to receive something from them. (6) But Peter said,Silver and gold have I none, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ ofNazareth, rise up and walk! (7) And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up. Andimmediately his feet and ankle-bones received strength. (8) And leaping up, he stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. (9) And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

Two

Act 5:15-16 MKJV So as to carry out the sick into the streets and place them on cots andmattresses, so that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.(16) And also a multitude came from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick ones, andthose being tormented by unclean spirits, who were all healed.

Three

Act 8:5-8 MKJV And Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed Christ to them.(6) And the people with one accord gave heed to those things which Philip spoke, hearing andseeing the many miracles which he did. (7) For out of those having unclean spirits, many

came out, crying with loud voice. And many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.(8) And there was great joy in that city.

Practical – Discuss point 4 - 7

Four

Act 28:1-10 CEV When we came ashore, we learned that the island was called Malta. (2) Thelocal people were very friendly, and they welcomed us by building a fire, because it was rainyand cold. (3) After Paul had gathered some wood and had put it on the fire, the heat caused asnake to crawl out, and it bit him on the hand. (4) When the local people saw the snakehanging from Paul's hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer! He didn'tdrown in the sea, but the goddess of justice will kill him anyway." (5) Paul shook the snake offinto the fire and wasn't harmed. (6) The people kept thinking that Paul would either swell upor suddenly drop dead. They watched him for a long time, and when nothing happened to him, they changed their minds and said, "This man is a god." (7) The governor of the island wasnamed Publius, and he owned some of the land around there. Publius was very friendly and welcomed us into his home for three days. (8) His father was in bed, sick with fever andstomach trouble, and Paul went to visit him. Paul healed the man by praying and placing hishands on him. (9) After this happened, everyone on the island brought their sick people toPaul, and they were all healed. (10) The people were very respectful to us, and when wesailed, they gave us everything we needed.

Act 20:9-13 GW A young man named Eutychus was sitting in a window. As Paul was talkingon and on, Eutychus was gradually falling asleep. Finally, overcome by sleep, he fell from thethird story and was dead when they picked him up. (10) Paul went to him, took him into hisarms, and said, "Don't worry! He's alive!" (11) Then Eutychus went upstairs again, broke the bread, and ate. Paul talked with the people for a long time, until sunrise, and then left. (12)The people took the boy home. They were greatly relieved that he was alive. (13) We wentahead to the ship and sailed for the city of Assos. At Assos, we were going to pick up Paul. Hehad made these arrangements, since he had planned to walk overland to Assos.

Act 9:36-42 MKJV And in Joppa was a certain disciple named Tabitha (which translated iscalled Dorcas). She was full of good works and kind deeds which she did. (37) And ithappened in those days, becoming sick, she died. And washing her, they laid her in an upperroom. (38) And, because Lydda was near Joppa, hearing that Peter is in it, the disciples senttwo men to him, begging him not to delay to come to them. (39) And rising up, Peter went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. And all the widowsstood beside him, weeping and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas made while she was with them. (40) And putting them all out, Peter knelt down and prayed. And turning tothe body he said, Tabitha, arise! And she opened her eyes. And when she saw Peter, she sat up.

(41) And he gave her his hand and lifted her up. And when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. (42) And it was known throughout all Joppa. And many believed in the Lord.

Act 19:10-12 GW This continued for two years so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in theprovince of Asia heard the word of the Lord. (11) God worked unusual miracles through Paul.(12) People would take handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched Paul's skin to those who were sick. Their sicknesses would be cured, and evil spirits would leave them.

Mat 4:23-25 MKJV And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues andpreaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease

among the people.

End Practical

Mat 28:16-20 GW The eleven disciples went to the mountain in Galilee where Jesus had toldthem to go. (17) When they saw him, they bowed down in worship, though some had doubts.(18) When Jesus came near, he spoke to them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earthhas been given to me. (19) So wherever you go, make disciples of all nations: Baptize them inthe name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. (20) Teach them to doeverything I have commanded you. "And remember that I am always with you until the end oftime."

From these verses it is very clear that we have authority from Jesus to minister healing topeople and that Jesus is with us. We are not doing this on our own. Jesus is with all of us andHe will never leave us.

Mat 5:12-16 GW Rejoice and be glad because you have a great reward in heaven! The prophets who lived before you were persecuted in these ways. (13) "You are salt for the earth. But if saltloses its taste, how will it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to bethrown out and trampled on by people. (14) "You are light for the world. A city cannot behidden when it is located on a hill. (15) No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket.Instead, everyone who lights a lamp puts it on a lamp stand. Then its light shines on everyonein the house. (16) In the same way let your light shine in front of people. Then they will seethe good that you do and praise your Father in heaven.

The easiest way to minister to someone is just to live a lifestyle of faith.

Leading someone to Jesus

Week 17 (Session 7) – Peter leading 3000 people to Jesus

Act 2:1-47 GW When Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Passover, came, all the believers weretogether in one place. (2) Suddenly, a sound like a violently blowing wind came from the skyand filled the whole house where they were staying. (3) Tongues that looked like fire

appeared to them. The tongues arranged themselves so that one came to rest on each believer.(4) All the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages asthe Spirit gave them the ability to speak. (5) Devout Jewish men from every nation wereliving in Jerusalem. (6) They gathered when they heard the wind. Each person was startled torecognize his own dialect when the disciples spoke. (7) Stunned and amazed, the people inthe crowd said, "All of these men who are speaking are Galileans. (8) Why do we hear themspeaking in our native dialects? (9) We're Parthians, Medes, and Elamites. We're people fromMesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia, (10) Phrygia, Pamphylia,Egypt, and the country near Cyrene in Libya. We're Jewish people, converts to Judaism, and visitors from Rome, (11) Crete, and Arabia. We hear these men in our own languages as theytell about the miracles that God has done." (12) All of these devout men were stunned andpuzzled. They asked each other, "What can this mean?" (13) Others said jokingly, "They're

drunk on sweet wine." (14) Then Peter stood up with the eleven apostles. In a loud voice hesaid to them, "Men of Judea and everyone living in Jerusalem! You must understand this, sopay attention to what I say. (15) These men are not drunk as you suppose. It's only nine in themorning. (16) Rather, this is what the prophet Joel spoke about: (17) 'In the last days, Godsays, I will pour my Spirit on everyone. Your sons and daughters will speak what God hasrevealed. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. (18) In thosedays I will pour my Spirit on my servants, on both men and women. They will speak what Godhas revealed. (19) I will work miracles in the sky and give signs on the earth: blood, fire, andclouds of smoke. (20) The sun will become dark, and the moon will become as red as blood before the terrifying day of the Lord comes. (21) Then whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' (22) "Men of Israel, listen to what I say: Jesus from Nazareth was a man whom

God brought to your attention. You know that through this man God worked miracles, didamazing things, and gave signs. (23) By using men who don't acknowledge Moses' Teachings, you crucified Jesus, who was given over to death by a plan that God had determined inadvance. (24) But God raised him from death to life and destroyed the pains of death, becausedeath had no power to hold him. (25) This is what David meant when he said about Jesus: 'Ialways see the Lord in front of me. I cannot be moved because he is by my side. (26) That is why my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices. My body also rests securely (27) because you donot abandon my soul to the grave or allow your holy one to decay. (28) You make the path oflife known to me. In your presence there is complete joy.' (29) "Brothers, I can tell youconfidently that our ancestor David died and was buried and that his tomb is here to this day.(30) David was a prophet and knew that God had promised with an oath that he would placeone of David's descendants on his throne. (31) David knew that the Messiah would come backto life, and he spoke about that before it ever happened. He said that the Messiah wouldn't beleft in the grave and that his body wouldn't decay. (32) "God brought this man Jesus back tolife. We are all witnesses to that. (33) God used his power to give Jesus the highest position.Jesus has also received and has poured out the Holy Spirit as the Father had promised, andthis is what you're seeing and hearing. (34) David didn't go up to heaven, but he said, 'TheLord said to my Lord, "Take my highest position of power (35) until I put your enemies under your control."' (36) "All the people of Israel should know beyond a doubt that God madeJesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." (37) When the people heard this, they weredeeply upset. They asked Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what should we do?" (38)Peter answered them, "All of you must turn to God and change the way you think and act, andeach of you must be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins will be forgiven.

Then you will receive the Holy Spirit as a gift. (39) This promise belongs to you and to yourchildren and to everyone who is far away. It belongs to everyone who worships the Lord our

God." (40) Peter said much more to warn them. He urged, "Save yourselves from this corruptgeneration." (41) Those who accepted what Peter said were baptized. That day about 3,000people were added to the group. (42) The disciples were devoted to the teachings of theapostles, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. (43) A feeling of fear cameover everyone as many amazing things and miraculous signs happened through the apostles.(44) All the believers kept meeting together, and they shared everything with each other. (45)From time to time, they sold their property and other possessions and distributed the moneyto anyone who needed it. (46) The believers had a single purpose and went to the templeevery day. They were joyful and humble as they ate at each other's homes and shared theirfood. (47) At the same time, they praised God and had the good will of all the people. Everyday the Lord saved people, and they were added to the group.

Heb 11:6 MKJV But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must

believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Faith definition = Believing and doing the word of God

The six steps of faith

1.  Hear it - Rom 10:17 EMTV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.2.  Say it - 2Co 4:13 EMTV And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is

written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,3.

5.  Tell it - Gal 5:6 GNB For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the

lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love.6.  Pray in the Spirit – Jud 1:20 MKJV But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most

holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. 1Co 14:4a MKJV The one speaking in a tongue buildshimself up

Practical 20 Minutes

Mat 9:26-31 MKJV And this report went out into all that land. (27) And when Jesus passed onfrom there, two blind ones followed Him, crying and saying, Son of David, have mercy on us. (28)

And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him.
