Power user tips

Press D to quickly reset the stroke/fill default settings (when you are not in the Type tool).

Change the layout of the Tools panel by double-clicking on the arrows in the upper left corner of the panel.

Arrange your panels, and then name and save your workspace!

Press Tab to hide all the panels.

Press Shift+Tab to hide all the panels except the Tools.

Leading: The distance from baseline to baseline

Points and Picas• Font size is measured in points.• Leading is measured in points.• Line length (measure) is measured in picas.

– 72 points = 1 inch– 12 points = 1 pica– 6 picas = 1 inch

The Production Sequence • Format the file or frame the correct size.

• Add an outer stroke (if necessary) and align to inside.

• Create a text inset if a stroke is used.

• Type first, format after all the typing is done. This is a good time to save your document.

• Specify the character formatting

• Specify the paragraph formatting.

• Proof, print, and proof again!
