After 28 years of advancement through the ranks within the

Arcadia Police Department, including 9 years as Chief of

Police, Chief Robert Guthrie will be retiring at the end of this

year.

We are recruiting for our next great Police Chief to lead a

talented department of men and women who have a deep

commitment to promote and take a proactive role in public

safety.

WHO WE ARE

Here in Arcadia, we have a passion for service to our Community and a belief that our residents and customers

are a priority. We believe that our value lies in what we give, and our employees are our greatest asset.

Since its incorporation in 1903, Arcadia has been an exceptional place to live, work, and play. This is in part due

to a diverse workforce dedicated to providing a wide range of services within the Departments of Police, Fire,

Community Development, Public Works, Library & Museum, Administrative Services, and Recreation & Commu-

nity Services.

Within the Police Department, the collective commitment of our 67 officers and 30 civilian staff enhances the

quality of life for our residents by delivering robust services comprised of Administration Division, Operations

Division, Detective Bureau, Traffic Bureau, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, Special Enforcement

Team (SET), K-9 Officers, School Resource Officer, L.A. Impact, and Taskforce for Regional Auto-theft Preven-

tion (TRAP).

WHAT WE VALUE Our Department Directors and City Manager collaborated to develop a set of values that speak to our organizational

culture, as well as to guide the service of the City’s workforce to go Above and Beyond:

Kind. We are all about playing nice. We help one another and foster productive relationships to better serve our residents.

Highly Responsive. We are here to help. Our passion for service inspires us to deliver the highest quality experience

possible for you.

Trustworthy. We deliver on our promises. We champion fair solutions and smart decisions based on integrity and

transparency.

Better Together. We are stronger when we work as one. We collaborate and share knowledge across departments to

maximize results.

Improving Every Day. We are proud of what we’ve accomplished but are driven to always do better in a constantly

changing world. We go the extra mile by finding innovative solutions and pushing past comfort zones.
