20 Live 3D Transmission Cases 3 Remote Places
WELCOME
Dear Colleagues,
the aorta is the one and only tube through which moderncardiac and vascular surgeons and cardiologists are connectedin their daily work. In consequence, after the great success ofthe 2012 Aortic Live Symposium with more than 250 attendeesfrom 27 countries, we want to announce an expanding 2nd AorticLive Symposium in Essen, on September 11 – 13, 2014.
There will be up to 20 live transmissions from 3 ORs and ourhybrid room including remote transmissions from Marseille,France, Philadelphia, USA, and Beijing, China. We are happy tohave excellent international cardiothoracic and vascular surgeonswith us performing their elaborate procedures from the aorticvalve down to the bifurcation.
Edited video presentations focusing on hybrid and interventionalprocedures with extra attention on evolving endovascular andtranscatheter techniques dealing with aortic valve, ascendingaorta, the arch, and thoracoabdominal aorta will be demonstrated.
The highly appreciated wet lab opportunities have been expan-ded, thus many “hands on” courses under expert guidance areoffered to our young surgical and interventional colleagues.
To open up the meeting to more interested groups worldwide,a call for poster presentation for all specialties dealing with the
aorta is introduced with competitive character. The best 5 posterswill be selected by an international jury for oral presentationand attractive prizes for the best 2 posters/oral presentationswill be awarded.
To underline the innovative character of the meeting, participationvia internet is planned for interested colleagues unable to perso-nally attend including the chance to pose questions to our worldclass faculty. Active participation of the audience via votingsystem will be integrated.
For recreation after compact two and a half days of intensivelearning, 2 recreational social events are offered.
We are proud that costs for attending can be kept low andcordially invite you to join us in Essen!
