Wireless Power MonitoringGeist and Packet Power partnered to create the PWM intelligent wireless power strip. The unit transmits power data with no
additional cords and offers wireless access to the unit’s amps, volts,
watts, kWh and power factor.Currently available only in North America.
Geist offers the broadest range of power distribution units (PDUs) and custom options available, from robust basic units to sophisticated outlet level switching units. We specialize in build-to-order PDUs that meet the unique needs of each application.
Power MonitoringGeist’s power monitoring PDUs offer unit level and outlet level monitoring options. Unit level strips provide data for the entire PDU,
while outlet level power monitoring tracks each socket’s power
usage. Outlet level units come standard with locking receptacles.
Satellite PowerGeist’s line of satellite PDUs maximizes the remote reporting capacity
of a single IP address. Without a satellite PDU or a data aggregator
solution like Geist’s Racknet-A, data center managers wanting to
broaden the reach of their remote monitoring capabilities would have
to assign a single IP address to each intelligent PDU. Geist’s satellite
PDUs solve this problem by connecting remote capable devices
under the same IP address.
Satellite units are available in current monitoring, power monitoring
and switched versions.
Satellite units are available in current monitoring power monitoring
Switched PowerSwitched PDUs provide hands-on power control, even from
miles away. While monitored PDUs can display information
remotely, only switched PDUs offer the ability to monitor and
control individual power outlets via the Internet and smart phone
devices.
The Switched Ultra Series has outlet level power monitoring for
granular power consumption data of all equipment. A Max Group
Amps feature offers an extra level of protection by preventing
circuit overload via user-selected thresholds.

Local MonitoringCurrent monitored PDUs offer local monitoring to display usage
at a glance. This reduces the chances of overloading a PDU when
adding, removing or adjusting equipment.
The power meter offers detailed information through a scrolling
display of the four critical power measurements: Power Factor,
Amps, Volts and Watts. This information calculates kilowatt hours
to easily evaluate power costs and identify usage issues to prevent
critical failures.
Remote MonitoringGeist makes remote monitoring very simple. Just access a snapshot
reading of the power usage though any Internet connection. No
external software is needed, and it’s compatible with SNMP and XML
for easy tracking of critical data. SNMP data traps allow trending of the
data with DCiM software.
Inline monitoring allows for the retrofi t addition of an ammeter or
power meter to basic PDUs. Simply insert the monitor between the
PDU and the power source to display accurate measurements.
Transfer SwitchGeist’s Auto Transfer Switch provides redundant power for single-
corded data center equipment. If the primary power source fails, the
transfer switch automatically shifts to a secondary source, ensuring
uninterrupted service. Once the power from the primary source is
restored, the unit automatically switches back to the original source
of power.
Basic PDUs come in 19-inch horizontal lengths and vertical lengths
from 17 to 72 inches. Each unit is constructed with heavy-duty,
powder-coated steel housings.
Basic Power StripsReliable power distribution with optional local current and power
displays for on-site performance tracking.
Surge: Random voltage spikes can cause real, irreparable damage
to critical equipment. Surge suppression is ideal for smaller
environments that don’t have protective surge suppression at the
facility level or just when additional protection is needed.
Non-Surge: For facilities already equipped with surge protection,
Geist offers non-surge units with or without local meter displays.
Geist also has a wide variety of electrical options with Amp ratings
ranging from 15A to 120A in both NEMA and IEC confi gurations.
800.432.3219 -5-
Locking ReceptaclesGeist offers IEC C13 and C19 receptacles with an integrated locking
feature. Built within the receptacle housing, the locking mechanism
is protected against vibration and external elements that can easily
dislodge external locking clips or guides. This self-contained locking
mechanism works with any standard IEC plug. Locking receptacles
come standard on some units and are available for custom orders.
Tested to 1% AccuracyGeist’s outlet power monitoring line of PDUs passed a rigorous
battery of independent U.S. and international accuracy testing.
These tests ensure users Geist’s PDUs measure within 1 percent
accuracy of power readings recorded at the outlet level, and within
1 percent of the voltage, frequency and temperature readings. Geist
is one of the few PDU manufacturers to validate the accuracy of its
power monitoring units through independent testing.
International Accuracy Requirements IEC 62053-21 (Class 1)
US ANSI C12.1 Accuracy Requirements (Class A).
Low-Profi le BreakersGeist’s low-profi le breakers reduce the PDU depth by over 40
percent compared to traditional breakers. The slimmer design
protects against electrical overloads and allows the PDUs to be
easily installed in data center cabinets with limited space.
Geist offers low-profi le breakers as a standard feature on select
basic and intelligent PDU confi gurations. Customers may choose
to incorporate the smaller breaker design on applicable custom
PDU orders.

Passive Cabinet Containment Opengate offers the most fl exible cooling option on the market
today. With Opengate Passive Cabinet Containment, low-density
cabinets can take advantage of a simple chimney solution to
manage modest loads. Then, as cabinet densities begin to
increase, the passive system can be upgraded quickly to an
Intelligent Containment System.
COOL
Maximize IT density and lower operating costs by intelligently controlling hot air.
Pressure sensor information is fed into the software which is then
translated into commands that raise or lower fan speeds based
on the server load.
Passive Cabinet Containment occupies zero fl oor space and
mounted above the rack allows for maximum cabinet space.
Intelligent Cabinet or Row ContainmentThe Opengate Intelligent Containment System centers on two
critical components: 1) containing heat and 2) expelling heat
directly to the CRAC units. This two-step focus maintains the ideal
temperature for data center equipment.
The first step is addressed by Opengate’s expertly manufactured
chimneys and enclosures. The second step relies on sophisticated
sensors to control fan speeds and exhaust hot air through the
chimneys at the most efficient rate. The combination of hot air
containment and intelligently controlled fan speeds creates a
consistent climate-controlled environment in the data center and
within the cabinet rows.
Opengate is available for virtually every new or existing cabinet
model and confi guration. Geist has developed a vast library
of cabinet-specifi c installation kits that include cabinet tops,
blanking panels and mounting hardware. If a new cabinet or row
confi guration is required, Geist’s team of design engineers will
deliver a solution in days.
Optional placement of Geist cooling units avoids overhead
obstructions such as cable trays.

Wall Mount Ceiling Mount
Small Room CoolingThe RAC10 system evacuates heat from a small space and sends
it to the outside corridor or ceiling plenum return. The unit allows a
room to breathe which leads to a perfectly controlled environment
for small computer and network rooms using building air. The
unit interfaces with temperature sensors to adjust fan speeds as
temperatures rise and fall while providing the needed visibility-
to-cooling capacity, environmental information and alarms. The
RAC10's Web interface provides remote alarms and management
for superior visibility and control of room environment. The Opengate RAC10 system can be mounted to the wall or the
ceiling for automated heat exhaust and critical monitoring and alerts.
An optional Duct Kit can be ordered if required. The dimensions of
the RAC10 fan enclosure are 21" W x 14" L.
Opengate Switch Cooling guides cool air to network
devices mounted in non-ideal locations within the cabinet.
Active fans may be incorporated as confi guration, size and
airfl ow requirements demand.
Switch CoolingNetwork switches, load balancers and routers are often mounted
in the back of a cabinet for convenient cabling connections.
Unfortunately, devices installed at the back of cabinets can
be critically damaged or may go offl ine when they are fed
pre-heated air from the servers. Opengate Switch Cooling
addresses this issue by delivering cool air to network devices
regardless of where they are mounted. Switch Cooling products
are available in a wide range of confi gurations and rack space
sizes. Designed to work with 1U to 9U devices and beyond,
Opengate Switch Cooling channels air to every kind of intake/
exhaust confi guration imaginable.
