T im Jones of Glendale, AZ was never a Bagger guy; he was a custom Chop-

per guy. Give him a 300mm rear tire and a fi re-breathing motor on a rigid chassis and he was in heaven. He purchased his ’03 Road King for longer rides, or as he puts it, “When I need to carry more than my wallet.” Tim viewed his Bagger as reliable transporta-tion, not as something that was fun to ride. It was hard for Tim to go from his 127” Chopper to a stock Bagger. He started his cus-tomization by upgrading the 88” Twin Cam with Zipper’s 117” kit. The crew at Zipper’s then referred Tim to Trask Performance for the rebuild and some tuning. Tim add-ed Performance Machine brakes so the bike could stop as quickly as it could accelerate. From there, the bike languished until Tim met Brian Jenkins at Hatred Customs. Brian convinced Tim that he could make his Bagger as cool as his Rigid, and as fun to ride. Additional upgrades that helped Hot Rod produce 110 horses and 100 ft.-lbs. of torque include Hatred Customs exhaust and a Performance Machine air cleaner. Neck rake was increased to 51 degrees along with an ad-ditional two inches of stretch in the frame. Legend Air Suspension

HATRED CUSTOMIZED THE STRETCHED BAGS AND FABRICATED THE STRETCHED GAS TANK AND TAILLIGHT.

was installed on the rear for on-the-fl y adjustment. A 26” Performance Ma-chine Shock wheel rides on the front with matching PM rotors/calipers and a Hatred front fender. A 16” PM Shock rides on the back with a matching PM rotor and six-piston caliper and is wrapped by Hatred. The distinct bars are from Hatred and feature Performance Ma-chine grips. Hatred customized the stretched bags and fabricated the stretched gas tank and taillight. The license plate mount is from Paul Yaffe.

Performance Machine supplied the fl oorboards and foot controls. Carde-nal Stereo supplied the audio for Tim’s Hot Rod. Hot Rod’s black paint was a joint effort between Hatred Customs and Lucky Luciano Custom Paint. Tim may not have the power of his Chop-per, but his Hot Rod has plenty of power, reliability and attracts the same attention his Chopper did. If it wasn’t for his collaboration with Hatred, Tim would still be using his Bagger to hold more than his wallet. Hatred Customs can be reached at 602.695.3964.
